Another unresponsive plane over the Atlantic-TBM 700

IHow do you tell between that kind of frost and the rapid decompression frost?

Thats a good question....No answer though. I would guesstimate though that given the factors; off course, no response, etc...that one can make an educated guess as to what it may be?

The crew / pax are more than likely goners, but stranger things have happened. Remember the wheel well stowaway from Cali to Hawaii a month or so ago?

News is reporting that the plane is registered to a real estate development company called Buckingham Properties. They aren't commenting, but the President/CEO of the company is the President of the TBM Owners and Pilots Association.

I'm ignorant to operating in the flight levels, but barring an explosive decompression type scenario where pieces of airframe are missing, what kind of consciousness time would one have in a decompression event at FL280? Are slow pressure losses possible to where one wouldn't even notice until falling asleep? Not trying to armchair QB this thing, just curious about decompession procedures, etc.

FA stopped updating

Maybe they were getting slammed?

FlightAware is currently closed for maintenance
We're working on restoring service as soon as possible. Expect departure clearance shortly.

Back up and the logs stopped at 2:11. I know it's not perfect but you see speed fall off, then a descent, a climb and speed almost halves, then nothing. Out of fuel now?

#N900KN is trending on twitter. talk of it crashing on/near jamaica

Years ago these guys would have just disappeared and nobody would have any idea where to look for the wreckage or even have a clue what the cause might have been.

Yeah. Charles Berlitz made a fortune off those.

About 10:10 in, ATC requests an IDENT and then at 11:45 ATC asks another a/c to reach them on hte radio. Last heard being cleared to FL200
