Announcement Ending 05/02

Hey all you 5/02ers...

Just got my AT-SAT... I bombed with an 83.2... I worked til 11pm the night before and had a 5am flight the next morning... and got my butt kicked. But who knows... maybe there's a place in a control tower for mediocrity haha... Good luck to all... let the waiting begin

That prep is different from what will be on the atsat...

Back from the test:nana2:

Ya you're right. But it just is a good tool to answer some questions easier. On the test I may have converted to mpm on 2-3 questions.

But I still think that any who are skeptical on the applied math, they should definitely try it.

Letter factory is pretty different than on the CD. And the analogies sucked.

Here is a great new study tool for the math portion. I haven't seen this as a recommendation except in this original thread:

http://forums.jetcareers.com/air-traffic-control/67879-at-sat-math-prep-download.html

The first post is a download from a text book. Many pages and more practice problems. Highly recommended!

That math prep was created for a 4th grader. I'm still curious...is that REALLY a good representation of the math questions asked? It seems too easy to be true.

Your right. It is way to good to be true. The CD rom math is much more of an accurate representation. Hardly any of the questions resemble anything from that download. I wondered the same thing before I took the test, but was unsure and prepared for both variations.
I will say this though. The download is good practice for sharpening up on multiplication and division in your head if nothing else.
The climb/descend questions, and arrival time questions were the most abundant.

anyone looking to be located in the southeast like louisiana? just curious if anyone had any idea about where the PEPC would be held?

Anyone from the 6/27 test in Houston heard their scores? I have a sinking feeling haha

You haven't gotten a score from 6/27? That seems really odd?

I know this is a dumb question... but did you check ASAP on the first page after you login about halfway down?

This makes me wonder actually.... I took the test on July 2nd and have been anxiously awaiting my score. Even one week seems like too long, regardless of the holiday.

When I log into ASAP my front page says:

**** NOTICE Regarding AT-SAT Score ****

AT-SAT test list generated:05/28/2008 02:21:46 PM (Central Time): You have been authorized to take the AT-SAT test for announcement AAC-AMH-08-PUBNAT2-09140. You will be contacted within a few weeks to schedule the test. If you have questions about the process, please call Aviation Careers Division at...

So I have a notice regarding score, but no score!

The only other place I can think of to find it is under "User Information," but under "Test Information" it's still blank.

Frustrating...

That is what it normally says. I am a bit shocked though that you haven't gotten your scores yet. I am really shocked at the 6/27 Houston person not having their score yet. I took the test 6/25 and got my score 6/30 or 7/1.

Well maybe this tip didn't need a whole 25 page print out to learn. But in summary I think it helps if you can convert MPH/Knots to miles per minute and then multiply by the time in the question and theres an easier way to calculate the answer. Say 240mph can be represented as 4 miles per minute. Now you can easily find how far it will be in X minutes.

I probably saw 2 questions where you can actually do this on the real test. But it was easier and I had the answer in seconds! I was stressing about the time per question thing but I had a few minutes to spare when I was done.

I also thought it was funny when the guys(who were hilarious and great by the way) were explaining no cameras or phones because people try to take pictures of the screen to make books by. Then he asks "did anyone even buy the book?" I was the only one out of 15+ who raised my hand... He laughed and said it probably wont help you. I laughed and said "we will see.":)

I know it's not the easiest to study for but I really think the book or really the CD helped me out. I just don't understand how people won't use tools offered out there to get you in. I guess I just want to get in more than they do:nana2:

Yes when they told me 1-2 weeks I didn't think they actually meant it! I have a friend who took the test the same day and hasn't gotten his score either... so it has something to do with the test date rather than me not knowing where to look (hopefully!)

Wouldn't it totally suck if they can't retreive the scores for that particular test and you had to do it again?!

That's pretty neat that you were the only one.

If nothing else, these materials make me feel a little less helpless and unprepared about what I'll be presented, and THAT will reflect in my future score, I'm certain.
