Announcement Ending 05/02

now i can't get through to anybody at careers. this is ridiculous. i'm debating whether or not i should e-mail them or wait until they decide to answer their phone :banghead:

alright I just called and got the same info, I am on the list and they don't know why I wasn't emailed. They verified my email address and told me to email aviation.careers@faa.gov I asked what I needed to provide in the email and she said to give them my name, that I was on the list, to verify me email (and I'll also provide an alternate) and a contact number. She also said to reapply for the upcoming PUBNAT 6 and the following announcement in Sept. I asked her about PUBNAT 3 which told us 5/2ers not to reapply and she said that was false and she had no idea why it was in there but should not have been. She said after each announcement they start fresh with the new group of applicants. What a mess!!

Wait a minute...so this lady is telling you to reapply for the upcoming PUBNAT 6 because the emails aren't going through?!?!? Who are you people calling? This is now more than ridiculous.

I think you are reading too much into her suggestion. She is suggestion to apply to PUBNAT6 because until you have a TOL you should apply, apply, apply. One doesnt have anything to do with the other... simma down now! lol

ASAP has told me for a while that emails aren't going through to @comcast.net email addresses.

Maybe you have that and it didn't go through? Or maybe they're having problems with another ISP now?

I am using Gmail and that worked fine for the few PUBNAT3 announcements I've received so far.

I'm using yahoo and they said it must have went into my spam folder - it didn't. I've been checking my inbox and spam folder religiously since last Monday. Anyway I gave them two more email addresses they can use so we'll see what happens.

Wait, sorry if that's what I implied. She just offered her advice. Once she confirmed I was "on the list" and told me what to do she then offered up the suggestion to reapply for PUBNAT 6 coming "in a few weeks" and to the following announcement sometime in Sept. I took it as advice for further consideration if this one were to fall through. Gosh I hope that's not what she meant!

edit: and the number I called was the one listed at the bottom of our announcement for the aviation careers division. 405-954-4657

I mailed that address (which was unnecessary) and I would recommend people stop calling and emailing them over at the FAA. There was a problem and they know about it and are working to correct it. No communication is needed from applicants to solve this problem. This is the response I got from them:

I apologize for not answering your e-mail earlier; we are currently experiencing an overwhelming number of e-mails and phone calls.

I would like to express our apology for a mistake that we made when submitting our requirements for the contractor who sent out the e-mails to the applicants. We missed a group of names, which yours was one of them. We discovered our mistake and have sent a supplemental requirement list this morning; you should be receiving an e-mail shortly with the link to fill out the geographical preference form.

Again, we apology for any inconvenience we may have caused you.

Though this is relieving news, it directly contradicts what FAA employees have told people to do today. Several people have been told (as recently as a few minutes ago) to email the FAA regarding this issue.

I suppose there's no way to have a definitive answer. At least emails are easier to ignore than phone calls. I don't see any harm in emailing them.

maybe so, but the lady I spoke with did not imply that there was a screw up on their end. All she said was i should have got it and for me to reply to the address she gave. At this point, if anyone hasn't received an email or spoke with somebody about it, I sure as hell would calling them. Sorry aviation careers for the inconvenience but that's what they get and that's their job.

i contacted the careers office and the lady on the phone confirmed that my name was indeed on the list. she then said to email them at aviation.careers@faa.gov and tell them i'm on the list that should have received an e-mail and also provide my name, address, phone number, and e-mail.

I emailed the above mentioned address (as instructed to by aviation careers division) and I just got the geo pref email.

I called them as well and they told me to email them at the address above. She also told me it could take a couple of days to receive my email once I sent the email in. I hope this mess is cleared up soon.

I just got my geo letter and it was sent at 12:40pm PST for those who want to check there emails. From people i talked to already, they received theirs on 8/4 between 1230pm and 130pm...good luck to us all!

I got mine too. It looks like a lot of the west coasters have finally got theirs. Does anyone know how long we have to wait now to here back about PEPC locations?
