Announcement Ending 05/02

Tomorrow's the first day of testing... good luck to everyone :)

Johnsc81 - last day is the 18th

Got done with the test about an hour ago and not sure how I feel about it right now. Parts of it were easy and parts were hard. The Letter Factory was easy till the awareness questions. I could arrange the letters and the boxes, order new boxes, recognize the defective ones but when it stopped and the questions came up, it was like I couldn't remember what I was doing for the past few minutes. The ATC scenario wasn't too hard but it seemed every time I was in the middle of lining up a plane I'd get a hand off that would pop up and I couldn't deselect the play I had marked, that was somewhat frustrating. Something tells me I could have probably deselected it by right clicking but whatever. Some of the analogies were random as hell. I nailed analogies on the SAT years ago but some of these I couldn't help but say, "Wha?"

Best of luck to everyone else

what did you think about the math and scan portions? where the questions fairly straight forward or did they throw you any curve balls? i don't take my test for a couple more weeks and I'm starting to wish i would've scheduled earlier just to get it over with. thanks for the info & keep us posted.

The scan portion is easy, I know the purpose is to test reaction time but I was more interested in accuracy. The math portion is somewhat similiar to the math study guide but there are no ROC questions, the numbers are not easily divisible like they are in the study guide and there are several tailwind/headwind questions...

Damn. I had the ROC questions down too.. :(

I asked this in another thread, but are the math questions similar to that of the CD ROM, or that of the basic estimating part of the pdf?
Both are very different.

#2. If a plane was traveling 200 MPH with a 15 MPH tailwind, how many miles would the plane fly in 1 hour and 45 minutes?

a. 315
b. 376
c. 350
d. 370

The math questions were closer to this than they were to the math download except in knots...

last question, I promise.
On the math test, are you only allowed 30 seconds for each question, or is the section itself timed???

Haha, I can't remember for the life of me but I think it was something like 26 questions in 21 minutes, sorry. All I remember is I had a good momentum going through the section then one question stumped me, spent way too much time on it and then rushed through the remaining questions and finished with one minute to spare...

Yeah from 350mph or you would subtract 15mph from 200mph then multiply...
Thank you that helps alot, glad i found that out before my test on July 9, i am a bit nervous! Can't wait to get it over with(with a passing score of course, i need to do well, b/c i have no aviation experience whatsoever).

Folks! I stumbled onto this forum today while googling AT-SAT! :)

I applied for the announcement ending 05/02. I take the test July 11th in Peachtree City.

woah! are you saying the whole test is in knots? no MPH? that's nothing like the green book or math study guides. if so, i need to brush up on my conversions.

The green book is in MPH too. KPH != Kilometers. KPH = Knots per hour, nautical miles per hour, or miles per hour. All the same.
