Now, I'm no moderator, and I probably already talk more than I should, but I felt that I should do my part and speak about something that I'm noticing more and more . . .
Users that, instead of just answering a question for a newby (or a not-so newby . . .), they go through alot of trouble to prove to the newby that the topic has already been talked about. Sometimes to the point of doing a search, and posting mutiple URL's for the past threads.
Now, let's be real - not everybody knows how to do a forum search. Some of our users are lucky to be able to figure out how to log on to JC. In addition, in the time you spent convincing the new guy that (s)he is an idiot for not searching for the answer, you could have answered the stinking question!!
Jetcareers has been around for a long time, and with few exceptions, we've pretty much covered it all. So, should we just close all of the forums to new posts, and rename it the "Jetcareers FAQ"? I think not . . .
Sorry for my rant....has anyone else noticed this?
