Ya lets not do a bose vs lightspeed in here.

Yup. Go with what fits your head/ears the best.

Only thing I have to say is that if you plan to use the headset at a 121 carrier then get a Bose since they are TSO. I had to revert to my David Clamp backups when I left for XJT.

The TSO requirement is really stupid at some carriers. XJT provides 3 TSO headsets in every plane and still requires personal headsets to be TSO. :bang:

Thanks for all the input guys. I just looked at the Lightspeed website. Apparently I can get a Zulu 2 for $550 since I can get a $300 credit for my old Lightspeed ANR trade-in.

I tried one out that my CFI had and it was niiiiiiiiice. Much nicer than the old 30-3G. I've never tried the Bose, but I found the Zulu to be luxurious....
I've not heard anything negative about the Bose either. I think that the X did not have Bluetooth, while the original Zulu does. I think the A20 does have Bluetooth now though. From what I understand it just comes down to whichever one is more comfortable on your head.

But yeah if you haven't experience it before going to a good ANR headset is ahhh-mazing.

I used to be a line guy and, well, I've unplugged my fair share of MU-2s. I dubbed it, "the screaming tornado."

The mitsu's have the fast turn prop... something like 2200 or so. The metros (at least the 3's) have slow turn 1591 rpm. Id say the mitsu is louder than the metro but they are both ungodly loud on the outside.

Inside the metro with ANR and its a nice hum that lures you into a deep sleep with the autopilot on... wait, what? No autopilot? thats some BS.

From what I understand the mu2 idles at a higher ROM which makes it a bit louder on the ground.

What? No Auto Pilot? Jeebus, that is one manly airplane, I want to fly it so I can have the ootsk manly badge of honor.

Dear Santa... :)

This might be airframe specific or engine specific, I'm not sure, but the -5's I've flown ground idle at 70% while the -10's were at 65%.

What is the vesting period on the 401k? Anybody know? A guy is claiming that when he leaves they are taking back all their 401k match.
No match + fees = what

I'm not sure what the vesting period is, but nothing was taken from mine when I left. I invested in a 401K with AMF for about 6 years.

20% per year from years 1-6. There's no fees per se, other than whatever is subtracted from the share price. If we was there under a year he will lose all the matching money, which is only about $700 for the first year.

Is there any word on an AMF pay raise anytime soon?
I would rather get a 3 week on, one week off schedule. You could look at that as a 25% pay increase.

Not really doable at the outstations, but the in-station bases could work it with the right staffing.

That would cut into flight time though. The main goal of many here I'm sure.
