Ameriflight

Yeah, that would be a nice schedule, but I think a pay raise is more likely then a better schedule. Hard enough to find pilots as it is.

Saw this on another forum. Good news for AMF and anyone in the ABQ area.

If anyone is looking or knows of anyone looking for a flight or mechanic position in the ABQ area, Ameriflight will be starting up 13 new runs (10 PA31, 3 BE99) for UPS the end of September. All runs will be based out of ABQ, serving cities throughout New Mexico. There will also be a couple of reserve openings for vacation, sick call and special flight coverage.

This is a great opportunity for pilots and mechanics who live and wish to remain (or at least start out) in ABQ.

For information on applying go to Ameriflight Pilot Opportunities for pilots or Ameriflight Maintenance Opportunites for mechanics.

This could be interesting

It is great news, however I am not sure where they are going to get 10 chieftains from, and how they are going to staff the place when they can't staff their current bases. Although ABQ isn't paradise, it isn't Buffalo or Lubbock either so maybe staffing will be be a tad easier than the way less desirable places.

Really hope that doesn't take any business away from the operator out of ABQ.

Oops just read your full post. Well, that sucks for the operators out of ABQ....

And @Inverted this is not a good thing. Ameriflight underbids and may put hardworking good people out of the job.

Looks like a UPS run. Who are the operators in ABQ now?

Just a quick glance at flightaware doesn't show nearly as much flying going on out of ABQ as it seems like the announcement is for. Unless of course, they do the flying now VFR. I can't come up with 13 cities in New Mexico that have enough size for air cargo operations, even in a PA31

There are Chieftans laying all over BUR, HWD and PDX. The 3 99s though I would be worried about.
