Most metros have the right seat and the jumpseat. The brasilias have the jumpseat and a FA seat. I believe are approved to carry passengers and some aren't.

There is a 99 that goes BFI GEG...Leaving at 7:00 local from BFI and leaves GEG around 6pm.

There is a 99 that departs for KEAT at 6:40 getting there at 7:36. It leaves KEAT at 5:30 and gets into BFI at 6:30 Tuesday through Friday.
 
I'll definitely be getting to know the 99 driver that does the EAT-BFI run once I move to Chelan.

I had an F/O out of ONT a month ago who went from Amflight straight to UPS back in 98. He had a great story about a ramper loading packages in the engine compartment of a Caravan just like you'd put boxes in the nose of a PA31. What's the difference? A plane is a plane.

Anyhow, there was a UPS guy who would ride with him once in a while and one time he showed up late, after engine start. Amflight pilot calls on the radio to let the guy on and UPS said no way, press on. So, he creates a flow delay and shuts an engine down and gets the UPS guy on board. Turns out the UPS guy was one of the original 88 hires and very senior. Turns out he helps the Amflight guy get hired at UPS. That was a long, long, time ago but a great story.
 
I heard about this from one of our pilots who heard about it last week and already jumped with UPS over the weekend. Very happy to have this and it should make getting to RFD easier for me! Of course we haven't heard anything official from the company yet but maybe this is a sign of more reciprocal agreements to come that have been talked about for a while now.

That schedule is pretty outdated so the best bet would be to creep on flight aware or call our dispatch to get the best information.
 
Anyone else notice a new link on the pilot portal for jumpseat. Has an updated schedule that looked correct for my base. Required me to log in though so not sure how non employees would be able to see it.

Can't use the FA seat for a jumpseater, they gotz to sit in de middle and ski for a ride!
 
Hey folks! I'm a CFI in BHM currently and have been talking to Sheri over at AMF. She said 99 slots are open in SAT, DFW, OMA, and BUF. I'm pretty much set on AMF since a bunch if my flight school buddies are there and love it. Any advise on bases, standardization, etc? Any and all help is appreciated! Thanks!

Keep a good attitude and memorize your flows BEFORE ground school. I also found it helpful to practice flows at night with my classmates. When you practice emergencies in your room at night, do it with the tv or radio or some other loud distraction blaring in the background. This will help simulate the simulator room.

It's hard not to keep a good attitude on my end! I know a lot of guys don't find glory or fun in SPIFR in old turboprops, but my endgame is either ups/fedex or aerial firefighting. That or bust! I honestly can't wait to fly a 99 and eventually a 1900 or a San Antonio Sewer Pipe single pilot!

Just FYI SAT, DFW, and OMA are pure outstation bases for the 99. Be prepared to live in nowhereland. BUF can be in base or outstation I do believe.
 
BUF is all outstation based as well, all 99 runs are out of Plattsburgh, unless you are reserve out of buffalo.
