I know the Bro FO position is not a highly desired place to be but would someone mind giving me the details of the job? Any multi time mins? I know the pay if APC is correct but what about bases, schedule, avg monthly flight time, initial training, training contract, etc. I know normally most people that have the time want the PIC slots but in my case I really need the fixed wing experience before feeling comfortable doing single pilot freight ops! Also I know going in that from what I have heard the Bro FO slot is a hard one to get out of once there if you want to move up.

I cant imagine doing a Bro FO position at AMF over a regional. You dont come to AMF for that IMHO.
These days a bro at AMF if hirable at a much lower time than at a regional. If you come in at 1200 hours it isn't worth your time.

That's about all I needed to know. If its that bad I want no part of it. My biggest need soon will be building some real world MEL fixed-wing experience not TT. I have been flying low level VFR in rural areas since 2003. Its time to refine my airway flying and move on!!

Honestly, I don't know where they find these guys. All things considered, I think I'd rather flight instruct and deliver pizzas. I know that's neither here nor there. You have your wants/needs. In my LIMITED time here so far, it doesn't sound like a position where they let you build your time and then move to another airplane. I can ask specifically tomorrow if you like, but it sounds like you're stuck in the right seat for ~2 years(training costs, ability to replace you, ect...). I don't have access to the schedules yet, but I THINK most of the brasilia flying in the lower 48 is ~3ish hours of flight time per day. Substantially higher in the Caribbean. Someone else who isn't a newbie can comment on bases.

All things considered, I have to, in all good conscience, suggest you do something else. After you get the mins, THEN come here when you have 135 mins if you like. I'm not as optimistic as management is as far as what we're worth to the "bigger and better" employers(United will hire us??? HAHAHAHA!!! Rrrrright...), but I am positive in the fact that with some serious serious networking, you'll skip the middle level jobs and get something cushy. It IS an enormous shortcut if you put forth the effort.

A Bro FO just upgraded to the 99 where I'm based actually. I'll have to ask him about the overall experience thus far.

I have seen people upgrade out of the Bro. I am just saying if you are going to fly a regional type aircraft as SIC, might as well go to a regional.

There's a bro FO right here on the board.
There is at least one. Not sure if we are thinking about the same guy. There could be two in that case...

They do as they typically go right into a BE-99. That said I do know there have been some DFW FOs in the past that have been pissed after not getting an upgrade after sitting right seat for over a year.

The bro could be used for someone that needs to time build and doesn't want to CFI. Most regionals require 1200 hours or more so they meet the ATP requirements. Part 135 still only needs a commercial certificate for FOs.

I took a bro fo spot at amf, 7 months later I was sitting left seat in the tube. 7 more after that I was sitting left seat in the bro. A much fast upgrade then skywest

Yeah, when I worked for Flight Express, that thing would get into Omaha at around 6:30-7 in the morning when I was leaving. Leaves at night I'm assuming, so being home every other day.(?) Unless you're getting a 3 day weekend, gross!

Na, 1 day weekend from the looks of it. And I can't tell if you live in cvg or oma... either way it looks terrible.
