I wasn't trying to come off in a bad way, just wanted to let people know that they are hiring straight into the 99. There were 3 direct 99 hires in my class, and there were 4 99 upgrades the week I was in indoc, one of which spent only 3 weeks on the line as a Chieftain before being upgraded to the 99. There is a lot of movement within the company. There was even a guy who got hired straight into the Metro, and a guy who was hired straight into the Brasilia.

You might want to clarify the Brasilia. Likely an FO slot correct? That is an entry level position in the company so going FO on the Bro isn't exactly a big deal.

It was a Captain slot, he flew the Brasilia for Sky West about 10 years ago and has about 2000 hours of Brasilia time and he also used to work for AMF prior to working for sky west, which explains it. But the moral of the story is that they will hire directly into any airplane. The guy that got hired straight to the Metro only had 70 hrs turbine. Pretty crazy huh?

Oh and btw there are 4 99 runs that overnight in DFW & 2 that overnight in SAT.

The bidding process involves calling BUR on a daily basis until you are given the upgrade just so you are less annoying. Written bids are ignored.

I think what @marus was saying was there wasn't a opening for that Brasilia opening. And why would a 10 year bro skyw cap come to AMF?

Why is he a 10 year bro captain? :)

Ya that would involve them putting it to bid.

Most do go out to bids, the ones that always come open and have never recieved any bids on go outside... Basically, if you want to fly something, or go somewhere be vocal about it, pick up the phone call and inquire about it with the higher ups and make it known what you would like to do.
