Ameriflight

Seems like Ameriflight is blowing up as of late. Is there a lot of guys leaving? Or are they just expanding trying to crush competition?

just from watching, it seems like the new hire classes are barely replacing the amount of people leaving. Could be they are trying to expand, but I dunno.

From what I hear the seniority list is the smallest I have ever seen it at since I worked there. When I was hired I think the list had 175 pilots. At one point it hit 200. Now it is back down in the 160s.

Worst part is that they are offering a $7500 bonus to new hires rather than increasing pay for everyone to help retention. They still seem to have that whole "its easier and cheaper to get a new hire" mentality it seems.

The $7500 is a gimmick as well, as IIRC, it includes the first year turbine retention bonus.

Well in the manual it lists a year one percentage, I thought it worked that way, I need to look at it again.

I've seen several posts saying that Cincinnati is not a good place to be with AMF? Can anyone give me more details about this?

It all equates to being able to do better, working at other places. The hiring bonuses are barely a bandaid to a larger problem.
On top of that very valid point, it's also infuriating to most everyone in the company (that I know) that loyal employees that have been working here for years get squat while people who threaten to quit get offered bonuses and promotions, and New prospective employees get thousands thrown at them to "lure" them to come work here.

I used to be Amf's Biggest cheerleader..... and now I'm looking for ANY way out, just like everyone else...

Yeah, what is the point of that survey they sent out then right?

Trust me, My previous post was for the exact reason you said. I keep seeing friends being treated like second class human beings. Even other freight companies by in large, aren't as bad. There are plenty of better jobs out there right now. There is no reason to be a loyal employee when you are treated like a bottom feeder.

It is a lot easier to trick guys into spending a year there, than it is to give the amerilifers, and other loyal employee's (which I don't understand) more money. Hell it is actually probably cheaper in the long run.

You work 6-7 days a week.

Reserve is 12 hours. Sunday starting at 8AM. Weekdays are 8PM-8AM. No I didn't accidentally flip those around.

No 100% set schedule so you can not plan to do anything on the one day off you get.

You could work the glow flights to get a better schedule. Unfortunately that comes with getting extra radiation exposure. Also you spend your first day of recovering from the terrible flight schedule and the last day turning your body clock back around to fly again.
