I flat spotted the right two within 10 hours of flying the line. Luckily they were already bald Nebraska tires and needed to be replaced anyway.

LOOOOOOOOL, I noticed that. Why are ALL the 99 tires in Nebraska bald????? :D
Ask Mx. :)
Terry still there?
Omaha MX was probably the best MX out of the different bases I flew, but the tires were always pulled just prior to cord showing so it could get a re-tred. Terry had it down to a science.

Yeah, he's still there. Great guy! Dan is the guy that cracks me up though.

How much time a month are most guys getting?

I just asked someone who in hieing in BUR I know. But I want to hear it straight from the horses mouth per say.

Depends on what base/run you have. While I was in BUR/ONT I was averaging about 60-68 hours/month in the Metro/99. Some guys were averaging more in the 99 on some of the higher time runs. Out East guys could get more time.

It varies pretty drastically. 20 hours or less on the short runs, ~80 hours on the longer stuff in the lower 48. The Puerto Rico guys have 6 hour a day runs, but I THINK they're still scheduled to get about 80 a month.

I hear from my contact that CVG has long runs? about 90 a month or so in the metro?
Couldn't tell you, the flight times for those runs look long, yes, but their schedules are silly from what I hear. Someone based there can chime in, but I think there's a lot of reserve for the junior guys.

Then there's that Brasilia run there. Probably the worst schedule in the entire system. It's so bad I actually thought they were based in Omaha! :)

Not any more. Seniority doesn't exist. New hires complain they don't get flight time so instead of having some people happy they make everyone unhappy. They use a rotation that includes a week of reserve every other week. Reserve is a 12 hour shift. 8PM-8AM.

Miami kind of has a rotation but less reserve.

On the west coast, don't expect more than a few hours a day max. And those are 4-7 leg runs. The lowest are the runs that are a short leg or two, only a couple times a week.

If the Santa Barbra run was JUST the actual run(no 4 hours of reserve in the morning as well), that would be a tits run for someone who already had the flight time. "Work" from 3-6:30 p.m. with HOT FBO girls? Yes please! The Burbank base seems to be like that in general. 1.2-1.5 hours a day though. The metros are doing an hour a day I bet. Not great if you need flight time. BUT, Ontario is your base as well and being at the other looks like it sucks. Driving in that area makes me want to scratch out my brain.

SLC has some longer routes, but they rotate. West Texas seems to be where it's at for some consistent higher monthly flight time, but then you have to live in West Texas. I'm taking Lubbock soon, but at least Texas Tech is there and I still pass for a 22-24 year old! :D

Brown freight typically isn't a high time building thing. I knew one guy doing 12 hours a week. But I'd say it is safe to say to expect about 500 hours a year average unless you are motivated by flight time and can move around the country for longer and longer outstation runs .

202 was a ballsy run that gave you about 5 hours a day too. 8 approaches too, but they shortened the run to 6 legs and took the worst airport off the run.
