I'm pretty shocked that they are looking for a direct hire for a 1900 for seattle.Seattle is one of the best bases at AMF and if they are having a hard time filling a 1900 spot there I can only imagine the staffing issues they are having. when i was there almost 3 years ago there was two 1900 schedules. One was for Yakima, WA and it was BFI based. The other one was an outstation based out of Bellingham, WA. During the week you were flying out of BFI in the morning and back in BFI in the evening. on saturday morning you would end up in bellingham and monday afternoon you would fly back to BFI. The guy that worked that schedule when I was there lived in Seattle and would drive back to seattle every weekend. Its only a few hours on the road. I'm not sure what the pay is and i'm sure you would be better of looking at horizon if you are moving to the area.
From what I can tell, they have the 1900 and Bro runs open. Horizon Pay is somewhere around 30k. I need like 50k to be able to live in Seattle.

Totally keeping the AMF debate aside, why would you go to a place like AMF with your qualifications instead looking for a company that home bases you, and you can just live where ever you want?

Easier said than done, I guess. I have submitted multiple applications/resumes to every place I can find. XO, Wheels Up (GAMA), Netjets, Flexjet, and a couple of home based 135s I have found on the orange site. If the pay is there, flying a King Air for 3 hours a day M-F isn't that bad. I got a call in November or December last year from Flex, then they went on some sort of hiring freeze.

Yeah, waiting to hear back from a contact who works there. I had a call with a base chief pilot, then the merger with FO happened, and I think it's still being ironed out. APC says they aren't hiring at the moment.

Does anyone have information about hiring at the Seattle base?

Are these posts for real?:

Does anyone know what the runs are like out of SLC in the 99? Is it hard to get as a base? I'm going to hit 135 mins in a few months, I'm really interested at AMF, but probably could only move to SLC or PDX.

I think they just hired someone directly into SLC. Not sure what the schedule is like though.

I live in Phoenix, but expecting ABQ in the Chieftain. Hoping to bid back to PHX at first opportunity.
I'm currently based in ABQ and I'm also a training captain on the Chieftain. Feel free to pm me any questions you have.

Don't know if anyone on here has seen the new hiring practices that are being inlmplimebted, but AMF has started doing some "perminant reserve" hiring, AKA perminant TDY. Still in limbo as to the specifics of the actual schedule, nor will it become the norm for all pilots, but right now it's home based, and approximately 2 weeks on, 1 week off .

Also.... CRJs are coming any day now :D. Sorry, I couldn't resist drumming that rumor back up, but the above is true.

AMF Bro Questions:

-Are they flexible on the 50 multi requirement?
-Would my presumption of being a Bro FO then going to a PIC position in another air frame (probably Chieftain/99) at 135 IFR mins be correct?
-What are the Bro bases?

1. Don't know.
2. That's what I did, went to the 99 after I hit mins and bid for it.
3. PHX, BQN, BFI, CVG, MIA, DFW, I'm all out.

I can't say for sure on the 50 hours, but I could find out. @spitfire5181 hit all of the bases. Right at 1200 hours, you are eligable for a 99 and most have moved on at exactly that figure lately. Most of the 120 guys should be pretty good at getting you ready for it.

I would appreciate that - also, as far as bases, is a choice given or assigned as needed?

Obviously I would carry some preference - but its essentially moot at this point.

For the 120, it'll probably be as needed. After that, there is some choice. I think BQN and MIA are OK for building time since I think they have the most flight time. PHX or DFW might be good if there's a "test run" being utilized though. MIA and BQN ideally have 2 FOs though (a sick call requires a dual qualled captain to fly which takes away from the Metro operation), so when there are 2 FOs, you get between 10 and 15 hours a week. When there's only 1 it's around 25 hours a week, but that doesn't usually last long.

Throw your app in and see what happens. We do need more Braz FOs right now.
