Yup yup. Got dragooned into being the Base Lead Pilot, which essentially means I just do more paperwork for almost no more additional money.

Nice, I was just floating from LIH to GUP in feb, and maybe I'll be there again in a couple months, you do flights to ABQ much?

About 40% to ABQ, 55% to LBB, and 5% odd-balls. Had an Artesia -> Denver flight last week. Not used to legs measured in hours since I stopped flying Denver -> Jackson Hole for Mesa in the mighty (but slow) Dash-8-200.

Right on, if I go back to GUP here in the foreseeable future to float, maybe I can bump into you in ABQ. I went there or FLG every day I was there last time.

It is the lowest paying A320 operator in the United States by far. However the quick upgrade would be cool.
True. But knowing the history of the company would give explanation to the low pay now. The current pay shouldn't scare those off who are interested.

Has no one posted the pic that SS shared on his Facebook page today?!?! Exciting news that people have been talking about for years.

I LOLed pretty hard when this was posted by someone else when it was determined not to be ours.

Unless... it is! :)

I think it's so funny, and also so telling that he would troll the employees at AMF with that pic. I laughed so had when I saw it. Not sure what's funnier, that he posted that pic, or that people believed him...

I'm probably going apply to Ameriflight soon. Can anyone confirm if the pay scale and jumpseat agreements listed on the APC site are correct and up to date? What about training contract for the 99? What's the schedule, vacation time and non-paid time-off situation like? Mostly interested in how it all relates to SJU base. Thanks

@FreightDogs can answer all of your questions. Send him a PM.

I'll just answer this here for the benefit of any curious minds: here is the link for the lazy: http://www.airlinepilotcentral.com/airlines/cargo/ameriflight

1) Yes, the pay scale is up to date. I don't see the new retention plan on there, however, nor is Allegiant's jump agreement. For the 99, the plan is worth up to $10,000, subject to some restrictions and requirements.
2) Yes, there is a one-year training contract for the 99 at $5,000.
3) The aircraft departs in the morning and lays over in an outstation, then returns to the base in the evening. Pretty standard schedule. Sometimes multiple legs before returning to the base.
4) Vacation accrual starts at 3-month anniversary. Up to one week in your first year. Two weeks beyond your first.
5) We're actually pretty well-staffed at SJU on the 99. I had one in class last month, and one more additional pilot going into class in June.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any more questions: sgadd@ameriflight.com

EDIT: For the record, the RJ looked pretty good from my window!

There was one 99 in SJU when I was there. It typically flies out about 10am, spends the day in St Croix, quick stop in St Thomas on the way home, and returns to SJU in the early evening. Not a bad run.
