What is "mainline" 121? I left AMF for a DC9, does that count?
121 sup is in a different category.

So what then the real word used should have been Legacy carrier, not mainline.
Of course the whole outstation based thing is BS and that should change.
Correct and maybe incorrect too. Sure the term mainline applies to your company based on the definition, but we are talking passenger operations.
I'd rather leave for 40k at a place that owns their own flying vs 20k at a garbage regional.Have you seen the pay scale at Frontier? It's a regional...
Outstations are ok if you don't mind living at the outstations. I was home everyday between 0800 and 1630. I would take that over some of my coworkers who were "home" every night between 1900-0500.
If your company owns it's flying, it's mainline. That is the definition of a mainline carrier.Mainline is mainline. DC9 is always a mainline plane. But put cargo in it, and it's not? But yes, to think you are going AMF to major 121 is insane.
That was a night run?Outstations are ok if you don't mind living at the outstations. I was home everyday between 0800 and 1630. I would take that over some of my coworkers who were "home" every night between 1900-0500.
Oh, and if you want to compensate, you can be like some of those Skywest guys and call yourself a major if your revenue is high enough!Living in the outstation I did for 9 months was much better than the "in base" run I upgraded to. Outstations are great if you get the right place
Nice, do we work at the same shop?
Still in Seattle?
When the sun is out in PDX or SEA, Oh FUUUUUUUU!Nope. I'm with your competitor.
Couldn't handle the weather anymore. Moved back to Hawaii.

How did you like the transition to EMS, by the way? I think its the best, but then I am a big proponent of sitting on my ass the maximum amount of time possible.Man you guys picked up some really good people from us over there, Maui crew is super cool.

Same opinion. I guess we could always try for one of the jet-EMS operations, but in my opinion those places are much less stable and tend to work more.Best job I've ever had. 10/10, would switch to EMS again. I have no desire to really do anything else. I think about other stuff, and I have a little SJS, and want to fly a jet one day...but man, I don't know if I could ever justify doing anything else - this is freaking great, the job is fun and rewarding, the crews I work with are incredible, the company treats me right, I make good money, I have lots of time off. This is the most fulfilling job with the best quality of life I've ever had, I may fly EMS my whole career.

Yup yup. Got dragooned into being the Base Lead Pilot, which essentially means I just do more paperwork for almost no more additional money.I agree, that's kind of my thought as well, and the schedule is typically crummier at those places too. I love what I do, I plan to stick with it indefinitely.
You in NM yeah?
