Isn't Skywest where they bent the spar on a Metro, Swearingen came out to fix it and basically just bent it back and place and returned it to service?

Since so many people are leaving for jobs that pay significantly less, it seems clear That money alone won't solve the shortage. QOL improvements AND money? Now THAT might work.

I also find it funny how AMFs stance was a lack of sufficiently qualified pilots. So they don't have a shortage of pilots, they just have to extend training to a percentage of pilots. Beggars and choosers?

Why would the quality have gone down if the physical applicant numbers haven't? AMF needs to get real. This is a job for a flight instructor who isn't sure about going to the regionals. So don't expect to take a guy who has been sitting in the right seat of a Seminole for 4 years racking up dual given, to be gods gift to the single pilot IFR environment.

I don't think anyone comes to AMF as gods gift to the single pilot IFR environment, unless they already had experience in said field. But, AMF does tend to mold pilots into very solid IFR operators - gotta get that experience somewhere

Not only that, you can't complain about the quality of applicants being low and then also petition the FAA to have the minimums lowered for hiring people
