American Eagle Stuck mic

The f bomb is a problem with the FCC, who I doubt will get involved, but if the FAA gets involved the right (any?) inspector will have a field day with sterile cockpit.

Fair enough - but since when have controllers been "enforcers" of sterile cockpit violations?

Any ATCers care to chime in?

Potomac worst in the country? What? They are pretty good. Except for a few DC tower folks who try and squeeze every last ounce out of their arrival rate and ask you to do stupid things like circle when no one else is even waiting to go, I've been really happy with the Mid-Atlantic folks. Not once has one played connect the dots or "literally tried to fly me into the ground".

Definitely embarrassing, and surprising hearing it come from an Eagle crew. They are generally very professional.

Im pretty amazed with what DCA does with what they have. I really count them as one of the best. You should be pleased to circle, shorter taxi and a little more fun ;)
And in the clip, I couldn't make out who he says is the worst. He could of been referencing some other city that came to mind.

Looks like the Youtube video was mislabeled. It was Eagle Flight 3040 (ORD-BWI)
Not sure which day this took place, but 9/13 is a contender considering that flight path in the terminal area.

I was the only one flying over Riverside a few years ago, and the controller had a stuck mic for like 5 minutes. Heard the entire convo in the background, in which some other guy dropped at least three f-bombs. I thought it was pretty funny and didn't think much of it. It happens, just know that if you want to say something bad about someone, check the buttons and switches first :-)

I'm surprised more aircraft don't have the radios that will start beeping in your headset if the mic button is held down for more than 15 seconds. It's pretty handy in the 767. Might be 10 seconds, I don't remember.
I seem to remember they have a "DERP" mode. I don't remember the specifics. But I can do a long-winded readback that is > 10 seconds...twenty or so seconds seems more reasonable before you start hollerin' at me.

Anyway, if you're going to say something controversial, (1) maybe you shouldn't say it, but since you're going to anyway (2) look for the little "HAY DUMMY YOUR BUTTON IS STILL DOWN" light.
