Hey everyone, just looking for some advice...

My Times are: 390 TT 20 ME

I've got my ATP written scheduled, along with my 1st class medical during the 1st week of February. I've already got a radio operators license....

I currently live in Fort Lauderdale, FL. But my family lives in Boston, MA (Free Housing)

Which regionals would be of interest to me? (so far I've looked at: Eagle and Colgan. Any others based on my times?

I was also wondering if anyone could help me with a resume. If you could PM me and look over it. (just wasent sure where to put a few items)

Is that a can of worms I heard opening?:buck:

...I'll let some elders handle this since I'm just a little guy.

Hey Sean,
Glad to see that your very excited to get started, however, I think it would be in your best interest to gain some more multi time as well as instructing experience. :( Most regionals want at least 50 of multi. Also, do you have a college degree?

-fly safe:)

You're the only person that can determine if you are ready for a regional....Doesn't matter if everyone on here said you were...Hell, the Administrator of the FAA could give you the thumbs up, but if you're not confident in yourself, than there is your answer....

You are very very low time....Just remember, a couple years ago, a guy in your situation wouldn't have even fathomed posting a question like this with your time...

That said, there are regionals that will look at you. The questions I would be asking myself are..............Am I an excellent instrument pilot? Are my IFR skills as good, if not better than the men and women who will be sitting to the left of me?

Another question I would ask is, if you were looking at yourself from the outside and as another person, would you trust yourself to fly your own family, friends and loved ones in a "big" jet?

Finally, are there any doubts in your mind that you won't be an effective member of the flight crew at all times?

Theres nothing wrong with building more time and experience, and with all due respect, I think if you have to ask this question, I doubt you are ready. Not being a dlck, just calling it as I see it.

With all those credentials , I suggest you contact the White House and apply for Air Force One! :sarcasm:

Seriously , get your CFI CFII and MEI , instruct for 6 months , then apply!:D

What about the JC member who at 200 hours, got hired and just passed regional training? This guy has nearly double his hours.

If you have to ask.....you probably aren't ready.

what? a ZJ?

Are you asking if we think you're ready as in, do you have all the certificates and stuff you'l need to interview? If that's your question, then it sounds like it, but make sure you have a passport.

If you're asking if you're ready experience and skill-wise...not to be harsh, but you're a little less than halfway to the insurance requirements for teaching in a light twin at the school I used to work at.

your ready to get some experience.

my family wont fly on an airline with such low time pilots. Trust me you are not ready. I think most people think, well there is a captain on board. Ill tell you what, it is a 2 person job and both need the experince to do it.

If the people at airline pilot central forum don't think you are ready, then people at jetcareers are going to say you are not ready.

I was just going to say that...over at APC it was an overwhelming no that you were not ready....What did you think would change in the 3 minutes it took you to start the same topic over at JC? Have you flown 400+ hours with 20% of that being multi since you posted at APC?

Will you get hired though...who knows, most likely by PDT

Don't be so humble! You're not as little as you might think- you can be an "elder" too! Four figure amounts of flight time and real world experience not necessary. Simply hang around here and parrot back whatever the most popular, mainstream opinion is on any given subject, and you're an expert too! Oh, and I shouldn't have to tell you that more posts equals more credibility. :cwm27::cwm27::cwm27:

Without a doubt, you're ready. You can't learn anything as a CFI or flying freight that you don't already know.

I'll have to disagree with you there. You can learn a lot from teaching others to fly and flying 135 cargo. It is one thing to have the knowledge. It is another to be able to pass it on and apply it.

What are you doing taking your ATP written with 390hrs? Do you actually know the material in there or did you memorize it?????
