Jag älskar sverige! (Och min svensk pojkvän, en vacker fjällräv *swoon*. Jag hoppas kunna besöka någon dag...)Thanks for supporting the economy!![]()
You have her insta? for, uh science?I have a friend at your shop, who said she was forced by the CA to brief all possible runways/arrivals, into I think either LGA or EWR. And then all the possible diverts as well. She's a 6' tall blonde former fighter pilot and former model, who rides dirt bikes and spends most of her time skiing in the Alps. Old guy must have just wanted to listen to her talk I guess......was probably confused by her in general. She also bid for 220 CA successfully in your last position bid, with like 200 hrs of 121 time![]()
This is true. Also, don’t wear the hat.
In all seriousness, the only requirement stated in the manuals for boots are they be "leather dress black, plain toe, with no buckles." "Smooth leather" is only required for shoes, so that basically rules out Bogs and Tufs, but damn near everything else is fair game. The Merrells check the box. So will Blunnies.
I heard that whatever the landing gear bits are that get refurbished in a big check were, are now being replaced with new every time instead of just being inspected. That inspection of the gear components was not done in house, allegedly.Final report. Metal fatigue. Glorious day for pilots I am sure. Happy for them

At least we were using the right grease this timeI heard that whatever the landing gear bits are that get refurbished in a big check were, are now being replaced with new every time instead of just being inspected. That inspection of the gear components was not done in house, allegedly.
At least we were using grease
(Too soon?)
It's never too soon to remind the company that there's blood on their hands for trying to save money and thinking they knew better than the manufacturer. At least we were using the right grease this time

That happens everywhere. There was a free software patch to the E-GWPS that would have given a couple seconds sooner warning to 1354 at KBHM. Company didn't install it. Might have made a difference. It's never too soon to remind the company that there's blood on their hands for trying to save money and thinking they knew better than the manufacturer.
I don’t think he was referring to the Eskimo specifically. Every airline has some hubris when it comes to thinking they know better when it comes to operating or servicing the aircraft.Come on, that was 25 yr ago under an entirely different regime. I’ve had zero pushback when it comes to anything safety related. This isn’t the same place as it was years ago.
Can’t speak to inspections and checks but WiFi does/did get installed at that facility in OKC for AS.Doesn’t Alaska get a lot of their inspections and check work done at AAR in OKC?

Definitely hear 9000 or whatever flight numbers doing test flighty things over OKC from time to timeI’m pretty sure that is where the big mods and heavy checks occur. I know there are FCF/ferry flights from there from time to time (or somewhere near there at least)
