I was thinking, "onetwentyonies."
Don't you guys still do a manual cutback there? This could happen to any one of us at that place… or Burbank… or Midway. At our shop Captains have to do the takeoff in SNA, but a new guy with 100 hours in type can land there. Totally bass ackwards in my opinion.
Honestly the craziest landing Ive ever had was at Midway. That stupid wall plays hell with the winds. This could happen to any one of us at that place… or Burbank… or Midway. At our shop Captains have to do the takeoff in SNA, but a new guy with 100 hours in type can land there. Totally bass ackwards in my opinion.
Not bad. But we'd have to seperate Alpies with Swapies and Apies and whatever that thing Skywest has. Troublesome. Still a work in progress I think.Aloi
ALPies?
It felt short in the Q and 175, all the times I flew in…glad my plane doesn’t go into there (or BUR, MDW)This could happen to any one of us at that place… or Burbank… or Midway. Yep, captains do the take off and FOs do the cutback.Don't you guys still do a manual cutback there?
Trying a full on v1 cut or reject 1 knot short of V1 on that runway, with a transfer of controls would be spicy. This could happen to any one of us at that place… or Burbank… or Midway. At our shop Captains have to do the takeoff in SNA, but a new guy with 100 hours in type can land there. Totally bass ackwards in my opinion.
Sent the mains through the wing so now im chatting with the CP
But for this I can't be fired so im going for more training.
Yeah, I hate to see this stuff. Has to be an absolutely crappy feeling for the crew. This could happen to any one of us at that place… or Burbank… or Midway. At our shop Captains have to do the takeoff in SNA, but a new guy with 100 hours in type can land there. Totally bass ackwards in my opinion.
Works as good as "corpie" for on-demand 135. I agree that we could probably do better though. Not bad. But we'd have to seperate Alpies with Swapies and Apies and whatever that thing Skywest has. Troublesome. Still a work in progress I think.
There must be a story there about a guy getting too high of an AOA or low on speed or something, because like you said otherwise that makes no sense haha. This could happen to any one of us at that place… or Burbank… or Midway. It's not that or them being worried about V1 cuts, its noise abatement. They are paranoid that the cutback is going to get screwed up so that is why it is a captain only takeoff. There must be a story there about a guy getting too high of an AOA or low on speed or something, because like you said otherwise that makes no sense haha.
This isn’t a very JC response. This could happen to any one of us at that place… or Burbank… or Midway.
In a previous life, flying 737s out of there, we never did the cutback. I was a normal takeoff, just an NADP 1. Never had an issue with noise.Yep, captains do the take off and FOs do the cutback.
Lolz, I quit asking why a long time ago. Just makes your head hurt. This place is glacially moving out of the "fly it like a 200 mentality."In a previous life, flying 737s out of there, we never did the cutback. I was a normal takeoff, just an NADP 1. Never had an issue with noise.
Although, I do remember flying with a guy who said they took off behind Southwest and tower said they had a 60 knot overtake on them in the climb. He couldn't figure it out at first, until he realized they were still doing a manual cutback.
