does whatever is in Vol1/FOM/Airway Manual anyway“Ooh, look at this nice 4 day with a Hawaii layover in open time. That beats doing back to back redeye trips! Let’s see who the captain is….hmm top 10% at the company….that’s a lil red-flaggy…yolo”
No one writes a note just for a PA. That’s an expectation of the job.
Try harder? Are you even an airline pilot? We don't do this to work hard.May I suggest trying a harder?
I worked at another airline briefly (guessing where this poster works) where 737 users were prohibited by the manuals from using RTE2. Period.Route 2, or route 1 if you’re already using route 2, works just fine. No glitches. The only issue is when some dimwit sees an execute light if the other route is up and presses the button, not knowing what it is he’s executing, and activates the other route unintentionally.
Either some wives tale or something specific to the NG. Not an issue in the Classic. And not possible in the Jurassic.
What amateur hour, sometimes you can be too honest in a PA. Just blame ATC or weather.
Omission and phrasing are big. If you over share on the PA it can only make things worse. Be general or vague. “We have an indication in the cockpit and are returning to the gate for a technician to look at it” etcYou're correct; sometimes honesty is not always the best policy, but DON'T LIE. Blame "regulatory restrictions" require a divert?
Lima is on the coast and really a non event. Surprised it would raise to the level of needing a special qual honestly. Yes there is mountainous terrain inland but routing is coastal. Flying through central Mexico is more tedious than Lima IMO.Jesus Christ!
Are you that dense? Do you know what Peru or a vast majority of South America looks like? Do you understand 15,000+ foot mountains on all sides of the runway and what happens when you puke an engine down there?
For once, please, for the love of all that's f-ing holy, shut your big trap for 5 f-ing minutes!
"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the Captain. The check engine light just came on and we have to go back and have the mechanic check the fetzer valve".Omission and phrasing are big. If you over share on the PA it can only make things worse. Be general or vague. “We have an indication in the cockpit and are returning to the gate for a technician to look at it” etc
"It's all ball bearings these days""Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the Captain. The check engine light just came on and we have to go back and have the mechanic check the fetzer valve".
