An Air Canada A320 had a runway excursion. Not sure if it just slid off the side or overran. Power is out at the airport and its unknown if the outage was wx related or if the aircraft caused it. Initial reports said the airplane was destroyed, but all pax are off and safe with no injuries.

I love how some of the more "specious" media sources are saying "crashed on the runway" (incl. RT) but the seemingly more reputable sources are saying overrun.

From the people that bring you "Vladimir Putin frees ethnic Russians from the grips of the tyrannical Ukraine":

An Air Canada aeroplane has "exited" the runway while landing at Halifax airport, the airline says.

Flight AC624 from Toronto arrived shortly after midnight (04:00 GMT) and reportedly hit a power pylon after landing.

All passengers have now been brought by bus to the terminal, the airline says. No injuries have been reported.

The incident has caused a blackout in the terminal building, local reports say.

There was heavy snow in the area at the time and visibility was poor.

It's been 2 hours and not a single selfie has been leaked and mass distributed among the global media? Canadians. I'll be they didn't block the aisles with riffling thru the overheads for their carry-ons either.

I too am amazed at the things people do with regards to the above. But its weird, the things shock....as in physical shock....... does to some people, the actions (or inactions) it causes them to take or not take. Things that at any other time, they'd likely be laughing just like us at the stupidity of someone doing the same exact thing.

That's just some of the people, others yes, are just stupid.

That's a dent. Air Canada was one of the first A320 operators, this could be an old bird, wonder if it's worth repair for them, I'd guess its a write off.

I'm still reading conflicting reports, do we know if it came in low and clipped powerlines then crash-landed or had an over-run and then hit lines?

Maybe the need a medal health evaluation. They're had to be some sort off procedure that can be put in place to prevent this.
