I have heard nothing but good things about UND. But $80k is a lot of debt and just a lil shy of ERAU.

Does UND allow you to get your ratings other places say ATP or your local FBO and recieve college credit for said ratings? Or do they only give you credit for your PPL?

$15k for a PPL is too much!

I dont know why that figures listed before say 15,000 for private, it's actually 7. The most expensive one is multi and I'm probably gona finish with only spending 9,000.

As far as getting ratings outside of UND, it has to be a part 141 school and you have to take a "test course". I think if you come here with your commercial, you can take a commercial test course and start from there. Same for the private. Im not sure if theres a test course for that instrument portion. I dont know how high up they allow you to go either.

Yeah, I'm sorry OC, but you're an idiot. I used to be pretty pissed off about a lot of things at this school, but then I figured out the problem with everything was me. You get out what you put in. Are things perfect? Not at all, but is not getting your temporary right away really going to make a difference? Your comment about the female instructors was amongst one of the dumbest things I've read on here, and that says something.

You're

That's UND education for you!

FOR THE LAST TIME especially with people like Max_Jenius this is an ONLINE forum, why is someones intelligence judged by what is mistyped as long as the main idea is there and somewhat clear it should not even be flammed. People are bound to make mistakes while typing, if this were an English essay or a resume question would I misspell as much NO. so based on this idea how a persons language Eloquency ONLINE totally 100 percent represents how the person is then I guess online predators, are truly kind sincere friend searching people.

Back on topic:
theyre estimating $52,000 now for the comm av course it was estimated to be $46,000 when I signed up to go here. I paid about $9,500 for my ppl not 15,000. Adhil those are just flight costs look at overall expenses, tuition, room and board.

Actually my post was more about your unintelligent manifesto, rambling and assumptions making it out like its UND vs. Chris and UND is winning. But more especially about you saying that CFI's are sleeping their way into positions and not getting hired based upon their own skill or knowledge.

I understand that you had a difficult time their but you need to step up and admit your mistakes in the equation and stop casting blame on everyone else but you. I'm not even at UND and I'm tired of it already. UAL747400 has admitted his mistake in his UND education and listed steps that he did to correct them and learn from them I can respect that. What have you done so far nothing but bitch, complain and point fingers.

Look I might seem like I'm an ass to you on the forum (because you make yourself an easy target) but I also care about you and want you to succeed in life and education. If I didn't care I wouldn't have called you when I heard bout the AIM incident to check you!

Fixed it for you.

an alternate route to going to an aviation college would be going to a regular college and flying at an FBO. This would save money and you could fly on your own schedule. After four years you will probably have the same thing as a UND grad:

1. Bachelor's degree
2. ratings through CFII or maybe MEI

yay

everytime you un sat a stage, oral and flight its -2 form your ground school.

That is better than the University I went to. Every time you un sat a stage check there, you went down a letter grade...........didn't matter if it was an oral or a flight. I always thought that it was the stupidest thing. If I failed a stage check, wouldn't it be just as much my instructor's fault (who gave me a signoff saying that I was prepared) as it is my fault? As a private pilot, sometimes I went into those orals just lost. Who's fault was it that I didn't know anything? That was one of things that I did not like about the university program.

Thats rought, one letter grade for an Unsat, daaaammmmnnnn. I see an idea, or way of thinking, that needs to be squashed real quick. When you (the student) Unsat any stage or checkride, etc, it is one persons fault, your own. Most instructors will not hail marry students to a stage check/checkride, just doesn't make sense to do so. None of the info you need to know is in a super secret uderground vault, guarded by Amazonian lesbian head hunters.

Especially in a university setting where you have ground school and ground lessons with your instructor, should anyone be unsatting stage checks, you couldn't ask for more information and resources.

But loosing a letter grade or any kind of points from groundschool, in my opinion, is just counter productive. It generates the mindset of students wanting to rote learn what they need to pass the check, and not actually "learning" the material to any kind of useful level. The biggest example I can show of this, is anytime someone says:
"I have so and so for stage, what do they like to ask about??"

I just believe if the instructor didn't properly prepare me for stage check, he should have taken some of the blame for it.

If one of my students goes out and bust an oral on a checkride, it would be partially my fault. I signed on the dotted line saying that he/she was prepared and he/she was not...... I live by that and I haven't had a student bust an oral yet.

hey guys can we get back to talking about UND...
can anyone please tell me whether i should take flight education or commercial aviaiton (which does not include mei but includes Altitude chamber lab and CRJ 200 FTD) to be employed as a pilot in an airline like emirates.

the question may be stupid to ask but im new to it as you'll know!
