hey guys can we get back to talking about UND...
can anyone please tell me whether i should take flight education or commercial aviaiton (which does not include mei but includes Altitude chamber lab and CRJ 200 FTD) to be employed as a pilot in an airline like emirates.

the question may be stupid to ask but im new to it as you'll know!

You are not going to wan to here this, but major in something other than aviation. Minor in aviaton, but major in something you can fall back on. Emirates could give two shakes less of a care, if you have crj200 FTD time from UND. The altitude chamber, talk with Doc Jensen and I am sure you can work something out to take the class the does the altitude chamber.

I just believe if the instructor didn't properly prepare me for stage check, he should have taken some of the blame for it.

If one of my students goes out and bust an oral on a checkride, it would be partially my fault. I signed on the dotted line saying that he/she was prepared and he/she was not...... I live by that and I haven't had a student bust an oral yet.

I agree, instructors should properly prepare you for any check, but that doesn't mean holding your hand and giving all the answers and questions, that is what learning is, finding those for yourself. I only had one student ever bust an oral, (3 TIMES!), because he was of the opinion if I didn't specifically say it or show it to him, he didn't need to know it.

Take something other than aviation to major in, and get your certs required to flight instruct (COMM, ASMEL-I, CFI, CFI-I, MEI).

If you must major in aviation at UND, then get the above ratings and pray that nothing happens to your airline/medical/the industry in general. Get the above ratings and stay away from CRJ/ERJ/PB&J FTD's/Sims/ Mock-ups/ CPT's. Once you get to an airline, they will teach you everything you need to know. BTW, how much is it for this Altitude chamber and FTD lab? Just curious...and laughing.:insane:

And chill out. Take a look at some of the other threads and see how they get their own direction, then eventually either end up back on topic, or spiral out of control. It's part of the on-line life of the boards.
