AA Wholly Owned Upgrade/Flow

Strong rumors of more 900s at PSA... No it's not from APC. 10-14 new 900s and a new base announcement is what I heard.

If you want to extend the rumor further, Bombardier is offering incentives to AAG to send PSA's 200's back to Bombardier and take the additional 900's. The reason is that Bombardier is making a deal with a cargo outfit for a cargo version CRJ200. With the A.D. on the aft pressure bulkhead (that is reported to cost upwards of $500,000), they are looking for a bunch of low cycle CRJ200's. Most of PSA's are much lower time than most that could be available elsewhere.

So, the rumor is... PSA is going to start taking 700's from Envoy as planned and combining them with the additional new 900's. At the end of the day it will be less total aircraft than what it would be if we kept the 200's and took the 700's, but it will be an all 700/900 fleet.

I am not sure that any of the above is true (seems a little far fetched), but that is what the folks that work in production in Mirabel are telling people at PSA.

Either way, increased number of airplanes means less time on reserve and faster upgrade for those already at PSA and those that are coming to PSA now. It will also mean an increased flow as we add more captains.

I hear that Endeavor isn't a good place to go, if you want to get on with Delta. Because the popular thought/speculation is that if they hire too much from their regional feed, to mainline. Then their cheap feed greatly suffers. So the though is that it's actually harder to get to Delta from Endeavor as a result. And easier to get to Delta as a OTS hire.

Eh, you'all have a 1/3 to 1/2 shot at getting hired on with DAL from endeavor... those odds are probably better than your average for OTS applicants getting picked up from the crowd.

Probably ORD.
I'm going to be the odd man out and say I don't think it will be ORD. With a new (and seemingly sensible) president at the helm I believe we will see a pivot with some of the AAG WO plans. It doesn't make much sense for both Envoy and PSA to compete for pilots in an ORD base. If we get the 900s before they begin transferring the remaining 35 700s from Envoy, I could easily see DCA or maybe BNA being a new base.

From what I've come to understand (albeit from my vantage of looking in from the outside), it sounds more like the Endeavor applicants are the ones that are hurting themselves and losing the job rather than Delta just not wanting to eat into its regional feed. I've heard that quite a few pilots show up to the interview under prepared and are in the mindset of "this is just a formality." That attitude is a stinky cologne that HR can smell from around the block.

The interview may be guaranteed, but the job certainly is not.

I have heard this from a couple people as well. Unfortunate for them, good for the rest of us who are willing to show up prepared.
