AA EAGLE 300hr mins.

stick it out and get that extra 200TT and 50 multi cause it means the diff.... between flying a...... JET.. or a ATR....Upgrade are around 2 years he also mentioned.

Heaven forbid you get stuck flying one of those Turboprop things...

I talked with that Captain again today and he said 300TT and atleast 50 multi will get you a pretty decent look by the recruiters because of the shortage of pilots. He said if you have 500TT w/100 multi and a 4 year degree you are almost guaranteed a job flying the ERJ. He said the low time guys with 300TT end up flying the ATR or SAAB. So his advise to me was stick it out and get that extra 200TT and 50 multi cause it means the diff.... between flying a...... JET.. or a ATR....Upgrade are around 2 years he also mentioned.

Or just pick ORD as your base and get a guaranteed CRJ or ERJ...

BS Flag raised!!! :hiya::hiya::hiya:

The choice of equipment goes in seniority order your first day of indoc. Seniority is based on age and not on flight time.

From APC:
Most Junior TP Capt Hired - Oct2000
Most Junior Jet Capt Hired - May2000

You actually get a slightly faster upgrade going jet...as the numbers stand right now.

makes no difference what you fly as an FO. Upgrade is based on seniority period. A jet FO can become a prop CA just as a prop FO can become a jet CA.

Yeah, because you're not a real pilot until you're flying a jet. Screw turboprops! :sarcasm:

On the other hand, what good is senority at Eagle if upgrade is taking 5-6 years.....

Most guys, in my opinion won't be there that long.

I know a few guys that were hired from within FSA with around 270tt with about 50ish multi.

I still dont know how I feel about it.

Eagle will take you with a Comm Multi and send you to a 10 week Flight Safety program. Then you are in. 336/65 or something like that is total time required when complete.

Thats wierd. Flight Safety normally wont take anyone with less than 1000TT for thier other programs

Im gonna play devils advocate on this one. I think all these rumors we hear about low timers getting on is just rumors. Most of it is second hand knowledge that we hear from other people. While there are rare cases of low time hires, I personally talked to Karen and Claudette in recruiting at eagle and they said no matter how desperate they are for pilots, 400/50 is the bare minimums they will look at. And plus, the 400/50 is whats listed on their website but realistically those mins apply to past interns or graduates from Embry Riddle or one of those aviation universities. Seriously, I hope I didn't ruffle any feathers but I just wanted to clear that up before guys with 300 total hours start spending money on airlineapps.com to submit their resumes.

So....now 300 is "low time" but 400/50 isn't quite so much???

¡Ay, caramba!

lowest time i know of for a new hire at eagle so far is 240TT/130ME...with an RJ transition nonetheless. not kidding around either. so i don't think they are really holding on to that 400TT requirement as much as they say they are.

"ONLY" flies Dash 8's? What do you mean by that? :p

I dunno you might wanna start by asking all of the (insert regional airline's name in here that flies RJ's and trains in Charlotte) new hires that turn their nose when you tell them you are training with PDT. And I quote "oh you're just training on the Dash 8..." Have I answered your question? :)
