A pilot has been indicted for allegedly threatening to shoot the captain if the flight was diverted

Oh sweetie, it wasn't complicated.
So, in your opinion, what defines an arsenal? I'm no magician with words trying to trick you into a trap. You have an opinion and obviously a definition, I'm just wondering what that is. Or is it not the number of guns but the person you like or don't like that determines it. Plenty of well respected members here have lots of toys, are their collections arsenals? In your opinion is it based on the person and how you feel or is there a definition? Smart people that respond with some condescending post when challenged seem hollow. It's a simple question, answer it.

Sad, but true. I went to a same sex wedding last weekend and part of me was thinking "What if some religio-fascist comes running through with an AK47, do I run or fight?"
I doubt that, but it must be fun to say. Your fighting a war that ended 25 years ago. When was the last time a same sex wedding was shot up?

What's the definition of "a lot". Like literally a 1/4 acre lot? Maybe a full acre lot.

My brother has a crap-ton of weapons. Define crap-ton? I don't know, enough to make even an ammosexual go "eeesh, impressive but have you tried BetterHelp.com yet?" :)

No, not really. Orlando Pulse wasn't 25 years ago. And since a drag queen officiated it alongside the hysteria about those performances, well, the kooks get kookie! :)

The guy that did that was no MAGA extremist, he was a closeted Muslim gay man. Doesn't change the fact that perhaps being in those places might be a little spicier. It's not hard to avoid places where crazy people congregate. Where was this wedding you attended?

Toooooo many questions! :)

To be clear: ... you know, meh.
I hope you understand when I say tech bros I mean the Elons and the Bezoses, not the people doing the actual work who for a time made the internet a beautiful thing of community and knowledge sharing before venture capital got their slimy hands involved
"Get rich quick" is not a systemically-viable ethos.
Neither is perpetual year over year growth beyond something proportional to population growth

Tired, dead argument.

My brother is probably left of Noam Chomsky, literally has an arsenal to hold off the Russian Army (which admittedly isn't saying much these days) and has weird fantasies about MealTeam Six rolling through his neighborhood with the misconception that everyone is cowering under their beds with lattes, disarmed.

And yes, that's in California. And he has tactical training. And yes I worry about him because he's not alone with these feelings.
Lemme get his number

You wouldn’t believe how many people don’t understand this. Guys thinking they’ll get to use their piece in self defense in Portland, Seattle, Chicago, etc. As if someone is going to bother them between the hotel and the Applebees .3 miles away.

To be fair, I have gotten so lost within 0.5 miles of the hotel, that I have said F it and called an uber. I'm speaking of a not-pedestrian-friendly place, before you all take my navigator card from me, though that would probably be fair. We could have wandered another hour, plenty of time to find some riff raff. I already TMNT'd the first group of goons that dared block our passage, didn't have enough reserve pizza to take on another

Every NFO just validated with “see? We keep pilots out of trouble” 😂

hahaha

I mean, now that I'm in the 2 seat world, I have learned there are certain things that are never done on det. For one, pilots never drive the rental, or really participate in the general navigation. Most would couch it as "we flew your ass here, now we're gonna crush beers and judge from the back while you take us to the bars" which is true, but it is also because I think the best of us are the most objectively poor drivers in existence.

Burn the witch.

I mean, I am of course an above average driver.....the beep beeps in my wife's fancy new car are nearly continuously going off as my margin of safety is well inside of its. Maybe I'll start saying "acknowledged" when it happens, to confuse and later annoy her. That's one of my favorite pastimes

The scariest part of our flight nurses’ job is riding in the back of a 15 passenger FBO van with bald tires being driven over the snow-rutted roads of Anchorage by a sleep deprived Learjet FO running on caffeine and regret over their career choices.
