76 C177 RG

Ozelot

Frozen Tundra TRACON
Maybe this is a place to share. Helped my buddy rebuild a 76 Cardinal RG this past summer/winter. I was pretty much his monkey doing work he assigned to me. Was a pretty awesome project, learned a bunch. 1700 hrs on the airframe and zero on the engine.

About 60K all said and done.

177RG is Cessna's sexiest single...that plane is just gorgeous!

Agreed, my fave Cessna's have always been the Cardinal and the O-2 Skymaster.

That interior is slick! Looking good
Buddy took the interior parts to a shop with a picture of a Bentley interior and said, I want the colors to match this. Turned out real nice. Everything is wrapped in leather, all the interior panels. That was a pain to put back in, but now she doesn't make rubbing squeaky noises, smells nice, and looks great!

That would be an incredible feat since Cessna never put a continental in the Cardinal and probably not really net much better performance due to the ridiculous weight of an O-470 compared to a 4 cylinder Lycoming. Lycoming did STC it for the 210HP IO-390 though.

Thanks for sharing that. The panel is almost identical to what I'm doing to my bird this week.

It looks like a great set up.
