2022 Christmas meltdown Competition enteries

Everyone's getting along, right?

Ahh, Mr. Casey Murray. I remember sitting across the bargaining table from you a dozen years ago, and you told me that I should be willing to give up my seniority because your CULTure is so superior. And I remember telling you that culture is temporary, just like pay, but seniority is forever. And you scoffed at the very idea that Southwest could ever not be the ”LUV airline.”

You and Kuwitsky and Bob Jordan deserve each other. Enjoy your vaunted CULTure, dirtbag.

Went to telluride for 3 days via WN, SNA-DEN-MTJ and back. On the way back I woke up to check the schedule on the 26th. Everything showed fine. 3 hours prior to departure, second leg was cancelled. Got no notification. Found out thru the app. Figured why go to Denver, they’re just gonna stick me in a hotel for the night. Called the rental car company and told them I’d be dropping the car off in Durango, bought 2 one way tickets from DRO-PHX-SNa on AA. Landed at sna at 7pm. On taxi in, wn sent me a text that my MJT-DEN had been cancelled. Cost me $1450 to get myself out of this mess. I’m never flying commercial from December 22 to Jan 2nd domestically again. There’s always some “historical” storm.

if a pilot was this bad at their job, they’d be canned. The CEO, President, and VP of Flight Ops should be publically asked to resign by the union. Management should be held accountable just like the worker bees.

When I was at PSA still I did this (but not in shorts and flip flops) two times. No captain to get the flight back to DAY from CLT or DCA so I flew it instead of non reving home. The irony was that the first time it happened, they didn't want to pay me for doing it.

Interesting. It happened to me a few times. I asked them to show me the money. They had to get me from base and back in pay. I always got double or triple pay from base and back.

"If you've already left, take care of yourself, do what you need to do for your family, keep your receipts," McVay relayed. "We will make sure they are taken care of, that is not a question."

Charter is equally stressed during this time. There are no “spares” per se as everyone is maxed out with travelers to Aspen, Cabo, Bozeman, St. Martin, etc. In the statistically unlikely event of an AOG (they’re machines after all) it’ll take days before someone has vacancy in the industry.
