2022 Christmas meltdown Competition enteries

My anecdotal knowledge is better than yours. When I ride spirit, I’m frequently treated better by their FAs than I am by the FAs when I’m on my own metal.

I wouldn’t say better on my own metal, we get crew meals :)

Usually Spirit FAs are fantastic. This was a first. Buddy at NK said it’s maybe the lack of a new contract? I noticed a difference this time versus this time versus last year or even this summer.

While we are at it, I JS on Spirit a lot. For the first time ever as a pilot jumpseater, I got charged $4 for a coffee. Normally they give one drink free. A joke of “any crew discount?” was met with “only if you have a Spirit credit card.” Of course I ponied up. But she had a DGAF attitude for a fellow crew member.

Another example, I still have my VX bag. A FA told me wow you still have that? If I had that, I’d be written up. I asked by who? She said by a legacy FA.

Speech less.
That isn’t the policy. Must have been a new person.

I’ve had y’all’s crew meals, honestly I’d rather have a cheese tray or bring food from home. Or the popcorn on Spirit.

Lol. You're hilarious.

SPEAKING OF COFFEE…

Jumpseated on Fedex. CA offered cofffee, I said sure!

Here I was, thinking I’d see the most advanced inflight coffee brewing station/mini galley system ever known to pilotkind, worldwide. After all, these are cargo pukes ;) flying back of the clock all night flying and need the coffee.

No.

Said CA takes out some stainless color canister looking canteen thing. Proceeds to pour out the most stale and coldest coffee I’ve ever had on a plane. I asked if this was his own device? He said no, this is standard issue at FedEx, he grabs it from there (?) flight ops area. And that they don’t have coffee galleys in that plane. I forget if it was a 757 or 767. But was not a MD11/MD10/777.

Disappointed! I want a refund on my FedEx jumpseat ;)

Oh noes!1!1!1

If you Jumpseat on my plane, you get to use a travel Jon plastic baggy in zone 1 if you have to pee.

And if you have to poop? Hope you brought a trash bag.

Enjoy your flight.

It's called a thermos. You're welcome for the ride no matter how ungrateful you may be.

Referring to you complaining about not getting a free drink on an airline that’s 1) giving you a free ride and 2) is notorious for not giving anyone free stuff.

Do you whine if you don’t get a first class meal on the JS as well?

I whine so much, you should see my cheese expenses! ;)

$10/hr in 2008
Because Iooked it up, this is $14.10/hr in today money.

ALSO, I see that Southwest longer luv's the CAK and has stopped servicing CAK.

Edit: looks like starting wage for a ramp agent there is currently $17/hr, $18/hr in Hawaii.

Edit2: I imagine, culturally, there is a huge difference between Herb getting on the blower once in a while to thank small teams for helping make a difference and maybe tell a story about their impact, versus one of Gary Kelly/Bob Jordan's lackeys stomping around to tell people they better make their •in' metrics.
