He gets rerouted by NCT and handles reprogramming the new route decently well. NorCal approach gives him a heading 165 direct WINDY when able, but once the GPS is reprogrammed he just cruises along in heading hold mode for the next 10 minutes as the CDI slowly drifts further and further to the right and pegs at full deflection as he flies past WINDY. Then it cuts 2 minutes ahead to him going direct his next fix. We lost out on some good flailing I’m sure, but honestly not the most egregious thing Jerry has ever done.

OMG! I just went to watch. @inigo88 is absolutely right. 20 minutes of drifting off course never noticed. Best part is, "While we're sitting here doing nothing..." soon after the instruction. At least he's honest.
