In Flight Porn? A little "creative"

Who has jurisdiction over a person's behavior when over international airspace? If someone did access some illegal images, where would it be adjudicated?

I have no problem with the web, my concern would be instant messaging and other things like it, being used as an organizational tool for bad guys.

I am all for unfiltered Internet access on flights but has the security risks been fully assessed? One would also be able to disrupt the network of wi-fi computers on the plane as well.

What security risks? It's not like someone will be able to hack the airplane's nav computers like the Cylons hacked the Colonial Defense Net.

They still sell Hustler and Swank in the airport so what the big deal? As long as no one is "roughing up the suspect" in front of every one nothing has changed. Plus a lot of people have porn on their ipods and i phones already.

I never understood that either, and some of it is hardcore. Funny they banned all porn from being sold at military bases at least 10 years ago, but you can buy it at a commercial airport:crazy:
They really sell porn at the airport?

VOIP will be blocked. Read it in a press release from AA.

Gonna be interesting to see how they do that. Blocking SIP calls (which is what 99% of VoIP services use) is relatively easy to do. Blocking certain other types as well as things picked up on VPN networks is going to be a different matter.

Yeah, you can hack around it, but it would be an academic exercise. There's not enough time on most flights to do it. Why bother? You'll be in cell coverage in a matter of a few hours anyway.

Nah, wouldn't make a difference at all. Whose going to tell bighoohahs.com that he's got to change it to bighoohahs.xxx? How do you enforce that? You can't.

You're right, it can't be enforced and it will never become a requirement. Even if ICANN did decide to overturn the ruling to not allow .xxx, the cost from the registry was supposed to be around 60 bucks a year. That means the registrars will be charging quite a bit more than that (prob a multi year minimum too)

I think this wifi stuff is awesome. I'm sure the FA's will be able to handle any pervs that think its ok to watch boobies bounce in public.

I have never understood why they sell porn at the airport. Who would bring that onboard? What good is a stroke mag with a hundred plus people around?

thats exactly why someone would bother with it, the academic exercise and bragging rights to being the first person to hack it.

Nah. All you'd be doing is accessing the router and messing with the port-forwarding permissions, really. And if they intentionally put in a non-SIP-aware router in the plane, hacking the router ain't gonna help - you'll get one-way audio, which is useless.

There's no point in hacking it for VoIP, is what I'm saying.

If they allow VPN access, it's a little different.

.

Yes.

Most other countries have evolved cultures with healthy attitudes toward sexuality, and are not leaning towards dogmatic theocracy like the USA.

Oh no, I saw boob!!! Now I'm gonna go to hell. Noooooo. If only there were some right wing fundamentalists to save me from myself.

In Europe, they threw out all the religious kill-joys 200 - 300 hundred years ago. Those people came to the USA. This is why Amsterdam is a blast and Grand Rapids is boring.

Besides, you should see whats on TV at night in Germany.

here's what you do, take 3 tylenol pm.... you win every time

Has anyone considered the real threat this represents? IN FLIGHT JETCAREERS.
Imagine if this gets placed on regional aircraft.

CA: "Flaps 15, landing checks."
FO: "BOGGLE. I need to finish this post about how some other guy is an unsafe pilot for taking his shoulder harnesses off below 10,000ft."
