I wrote this one in a different (and certainly not as well read) thread, and I think it fits in real well over here too.
Just my whole take on the Airline pilots forum right now.
And so you attack right back?
This bickering crap is a two way street. Toughen up, and let things bounce off of you.
I was interviewing for an oil rig job a couple of months ago. One of the questions the interviewer asked was "you are going to be working on a rig in a fairly remote area for three weeks at a time. How are you going to handle disagreements and arguments that WILL arise?"
Mind you I didn't get the job (that I know of) but my answer went like this: I'm a pretty easy going guy, and in an environment like that you have to let all of that just bounce off of you. But if it absolutely came to it, its all about having a professional respect for the other guy. They were hired by the same standards you were, and they can do the job just as capable as you.
I know times are rough for a lot of the airline pilots out there right now, I know you have some disagreements, but at least show a professional respect for the other guy. I have my doubts on how some of you get along with each other and get the job done for 4 days, say nothing of three weeks living with the other guy.
You know how your mother used to say "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say it at all"? I think a lot of you need to ask that same question before you post on here.
