turns out by 2010(less than 2 years away) I get a 14.7% pay increase. Not including the 5% override on the 700 which my seniority can hold, bidding 32% in ORD.
Does that mean you voted yes?
I'm looking at the .32% increase for this year....I guess they noticed that their 2nd year fo pay was already close to the highest out there, so they hoped none of us would care. I voted no anyway.
I like the guy I voted for VP, but I've got respect for both of them.
When time came for 1st and 2nd year FO's to vote in ALPA, guess what they did? Not saying you were one of them Zach. They voted NO. They only cared about themselves. NO ONE ELSE.
Well, if they don't get a pay raise......tough. They dug their own grave.
Besides, do you know anyone that would say no to a 14.9% pay increase?
Is it true if you take account the work rules Skywest has and benefits like profit sharing that SKW is the highest paying regional job?
Actually, ALPA's studies have shown that ExpressJet is the highest paying regional job. The last study I saw was before the ASA agreement, though, so that might have come close also.
I met an XJT FO who surpassed the $63,000 mark.
With how many days off? THAT'S the important part.
I know guys back in the old days, with premium flying (on days off, assignments, extra flying, etc) that made enormous amounts of money by making themselves available. But when you saw their schedule, it looked little total bloodlust anarchy.

Of course an ALPA study shows an ALPA carrier being the highest paying regional. It must be true... rrrriiiiiight. Funny how you think that is fact, but another group putting another twist on the same numbers comes up with a different highest paid regional... and if it doesn't say "ALPA" on it you dismiss it as spin.
PCL.... STOP DRINKING THE KOOL-AID!! It is ok. ALPA is not a flawless organization by any means. Nobody is going to come break your knee caps if you don't agree with everything ALPA blurps out.
I hope the Pinnacle pilots fight for a better contract. I will watch them in the next couple of months with interest.
Your one to talk Chris. How long have you hidden behind your screen?
You don't know a thing about what you're discussing. ALPA's Economics & Financial Analysis department doesn't produce propaganda. That's what the Communications department is for. E & FA is there to provide real data to negotiating committees and MECs so they can make comparisons for their own negotiations. The study that I saw wasn't released publicly. It was only for internal use, so publishing false data in such a study wouldn't serve the kind of "kool-aid" purpose that you're alleging. Also, ALPA's E & FA department is so well respected in the industry that even company management will hire them to do financial analysis. The numbers are factual.
Just out of curiosity Chris, how many Skywest ALPA Organizing Events did you attend?
Your one to talk Chris. How long have you hidden behind your screen? At least I have the ballz to come out and do something about it.
One, that people can be this ignorant.
Two, that you have the patience to continue to fight the good fight against the ignorant ones.
