Not necessarily true. I personally have axed interviewees during review after seeing Gulfstream Airlines on the resumes. Maybe not a career long showstopper but it did cost a few guys some well paying Learjet/Gulfstream domestic/international jobs. Ha ha.

Wow I wasn't even thinking someone actually hated me that bad to beat me up in a alley! If somebody actually wants to harm another human being because they took a job as an FO on a beech 1900 then I'd say they are pretty pathetic. That's behaving more like an animal rather then a professional airline pilot.

And that's what the "situational awareness" tag means. It means someone responded emotionally to a single post without reading the whole thread.

Your response to me was a way to go... an apology to snuggle would have been another.

If you work for a non-Union carrier that undercuts our contracts, you've got to understand GOING IN that there is a certain level of animosity towards you. You have caused guys to lose pay and benefits. For some that means houses lost and divorce.

So, if you work for Gojets, jetBlue, Skybus or Virgin, you can expect to be ignored AT BEST.

And if you really want to see hatred, cross a picket line and become a scab. That cross you will bear the rest of your life regardless of where you work.

Why does Snuggle need an apology? I was explaining the realities of airline pilot life to him. As far as I know, Colgan guys are safe.

Someday, you may be lucky enough to have some airline experience and then you can share YOUR expertise with the board. Until then, the CFI threads can use your input.
 
Snuggle, there are alot of cockpit talk gangsters. I've flown with numerous Captains who verbally hate CHQ/Freedom guys and gals. But let one of those crews walk across us, I swear you can hear the crickets humping. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but don't get mad at the next guy/gal for who they work for. We make choices in life that suit us best to our knowledge. Just because some dweeb from OH/ASA/DL/CO/etc. says it's not cool to fly for your airline, doesn't make them right. Anytime I see any other professional pilot I give the "Nod" because I know we are a small community. Ok I'm done with my ABC afterschool special. Time to drink Guinness!:nana2::nana2::nana2:

No he hasn't. He's simply a new pilot at a regional carrier. And divorce? Come on... a divorce has only the two people involved to blame. Blaming a divorce on a company, or a pilot who works for a company is pretty weak.

Even if the FOs paid 30k to gain their 250 hours, and then got hired at Gulfsream, I would not use that as the SOLE reason to axe their application. It's not like they are scabs. They have valuable Part 121 airline experience, and I'd certainly take a Gulfstream 1900 pilot over a CFI, anyday, if I was running an airline.
 
I'm going to have to agree with the Chief on this one. Be very careful on who you diss in this industry. He or she might have your career in their hand one day.
P.S. Don't kiss everyone's arse either. There are some punk mo' fo's in this business too!
 
As a JetBlue guy I've never had any pilot from any airline give me a hard time or make an obvious effort to ignore me. I suppose there are a few out there who do that sort of thing but it's a very small number. Those folks don't warrant any attention from me anyway, but I'll still say hello.

There's an old proverb that says "Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool, than open your mouth and remove all doubt."

Velocipede, the classy move here is to admit you spoke out of turn and over the top, and then STFU for a while. I have a hunch you aren't going to do that though. What with all doubt being removed and all.

We do not see eye to eye on this. I’m not about to hijack this thread and get into PFT consequences. The jet charter company I was with simply wanted NO part of people who subscribe to the idea that it’s ok to pay for a job when your credentials otherwise would leave you in the back of the line. That was our prerogative; we enjoyed giving breaks to hard workers not hard spenders.
