What do you think?

I was more or less refering to that they could use the slogan and not be laughed at.
However, with the direction a lot of other car manufacturers are headed, I wouldn't be surprised.

GM has failed miserably in everything that they do since the early 70's. I think the trend will continue.

Even if they produce a Maybach competitor, it will be hard to overlook the mediocrity of the rest of the vehicles they sell.

:yeahthat:

So true. No matter how much it costs, it's still a GM; a decendant of the Pontiac Sunfire and Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera.

Whoa whoa whoa. Mediocrity? ALL the big car companies make a wide range of cars. At the very least they offer something at the economy end of the spectrum. You don't really expect a brand new 10,000 dollar car to be fast, butt powdering comfortable, and the most realiable thing in the world do you?

GM of today is nowhere close to being what it was 4-5 years ago. To say anything they make now is anything remotely related to cars from the 80s and 90s is, hate to say it, ignorant.

I will say that I believe BMW still offers the complete package of comfort, performance, and reliability better than anyone else. They aren't the best at any of those, not even close on the reliability part, but the overall package is there that no-one else has accomplished this as well as they have. They're on the verge of seriously dropping the ball on that though. There turning into another mercedes real fast.

You Mercedes haters. I still love the looks of Mercedes over other manufacturers sans performance.

That is my only beef with mercedes. My taste in cars is more performance oriented over comfort, so that's why I don't like mercedes as much as other brands. That and having to fix one. Holy crap! I will own a 190E with the 16v cosworth(ford) engine someday though.

Comfort: BLAH!
Performance: YES!

Cessnaflyer- are you doing the university flight program out there in Moses Lake? I got a flier from them when I was looking at flight educations. My mom laughed cuz that was where she was born and grew up (she didn't seem to have a high opinion of the area :-p). If so, how's the program?

Yeah I am just finishing up the commercial pilot program at BBCC and am co-enrolled at CWU for the aviation management degree on the BBCC campus. I think the Big Bend flight program is amazing and I am glad I took everyones advice and finally attended. At first I had reservations about it being at a community college thinking it was a lower level of education but once I got here I learned that it is one of the best programs in the country. I've been offered several jobs because of the schools reputation on producing a quality pilot and person.

You also can't beat renting a house for $900 and living on the lake! Nothing better to go flying in the summer then coming home to have a BBQ on the boat and then night flying!

But your mom is right the town is kind of lacking many things I am used to from growing up in Seattle.

I can't stand watching F1 for more than about 15 minutes. Old F1 used was awesome. Not this strung out parade of cars "racing" that goes on today. I don't know about this year, but I got pretty tired of all the political crap that occured during last year's season.

I prefer lemans for road racing. WRC is the ish. The baja trucks are pretty awesome too. I swear I'm not a hick, but I love watching free style monster trucks. 0-60 in 3.2 seconds(how, I don't know), smashing through campers and driving around on two wheels, flipping over and continuing to drive, driving around with stuff broken or missing(like wheels!). :D

Sheeit, only if Speed Channel would start airing WRC again! (NASCAR stole WRC's air time :()

Yeah, that sucks. They cater to what brings them the most revenue. :( WRC is the pinnacle of driver skill. NO racing driver possesses the skill level these guys do. The drifting guys are the closest, but they only do that stuff on pavement. These guys do that stuff on pavement, gravel, snow, and ice, all on narrow roads.

By far the most fun I've had racing was RallyX and co driving when I was able to do it.

That is my goal to one day be able to field a rally car.

Have you driven at a rally-x or were you just co-driving? I want to do that SO bad! I too want to pursue some kind of stunt/performance driving career outside of my job as a pilot. Even if it's just the guy pulling the e-brake or doing doughnuts in car commercials. haha :)
