Today ATP costs $45,000 so Aviator is still 9k cheaper. It's not just the Aviator that has been putting prices up. Lets see if I can explain why? I'd say there are three good reasons why:-
Reason 1 - Marketing
Aviator is just a cheap downmarket copy of ATP and Aviator, management knows it! Aviator, attracts dirt poor guys who are concerned about cost more than ATP guys. Mike Cohen, has one basic business strategy. Do what ATP, does but do it cheaper. Whether Aviator provides better value is another question altogether; but Mike, knows ATP, is the main rival in this end of the market and he aims to seem to be that little bit cheaper. So, ATP, put up their prices, Mike puts up his, simple.
Reason 2 - Increased demand
Times are good right now in flight training and for some reason Mike, has no shortage of students. If ATP put up there prices and Mike left his where they were, guys would flood to the Aviator and there would be just too many guys to handle. Put up the prices, manage the demand and make more profit.
Reason 3 - Greed
Aviator, is still 9k cheaper than ATP so nothing has changed right? Wrong! Aviator, no longer offers the value it used to do. Let's do the math to prove it!
Old Aviator price 23k vs old ATP price 32k - Aviator costs 28% less
New Aviator price 36k vs New ATP price 45k - Aviator costs 20% less
So there we have it people, Aviator, is now only 20% cheaper when it used to be 28% less. Mike likes to say Aviator, offers the "best bang for the buck in the business." That's his slogan. Now, I say ATP offers the most for your money and Mike has gotten greedy. ATP offers so much more and with the reduced price gap you may want to think long about who offers the best value training!
And no, I am not ATP management! And don't give me any BS about gas prices, there in freefall right now. Here's the proof:-
