United Nosewheel goes *pow*

The winds were blowing a gale, and the NWS issued a small craft advisory for the waters inside the airport boundary.

tells everything about the incident.

(no, I'm not being serious about that f'ing ambulance chasing piece of •)

He’s already made a clip about it, didn’t watch it because he makes me want to crush my TV

Guys pick interesting ways to enjoy retirement. He can piss up a rope (sorry for the language Doug) as far as I’m concerned after his 2976 video.

First of all, he didn't "retire". According to him, in a self-serving, typical douchebag podcast, he was "fired by Congress".

I've been reporting each one of his videos to YouTube for Harmful/Hate Speech. I'm on a one-man campaign to get him demonetized.

I had never heard of Capt S until someone mentioned his video on the KSEE jet crash. His comments that non-precision approaches are never safe kinda ticked me off. Blew him off until the UPS crash where he made a video in an airport terminal after he was no longer with his airline. The guy is disgusting. I can't believe he didn't get fired at some point wearing his uniform while pontificating.

Did he seriously say he was fired by Congress due to the Age 65 rule?

Not sure if he’s full of ish or not but he claims that he should have been the FO on AA 11 on 9/11. He was assigned the trip on reserve but the FO(a line holder) who actually flew it called in and asked if he could get it.

If his contention that non-precision approaches are never safe, I’d have been dead 30 years ago, as those were all I mostly flew in cargo as well as in tactical jets, including circling. The SEE crew made some critical errors, but the instrument approach they were flying wasn’t at all unsafe.

Apparently it’s only about 12 pages of the 224 that which deal with the subject at hand.

“The title of a book is used to draw people into the book's content. One would assume from the title and subtitle "In My Seat: A Pilot's Story from September 10th - 11th" that the content of the book would be about a pilot's story from September 10th - 11th. The book was a pilot's wife's story of their family's history. Other than a dozen pages in the Introduction of the book that referred specifically to the events of 911, the content of the remainder of the book did not reflect what the book's title and subtitle indicated it would. I patiently read page after page, waiting for the author to get around to the pilot's story from September 10th - 11th, assuming that she would somehow tie it all together, but finally gave up, and put the book on the shelf after reading over 100 pages. While the Scheibner's are certainly to be admired for their willingness to whole-heartedly dive in and be used by God, I find the title and subtile of the book to be a bit dishonest when compared to what was actually in the book.“

That’s funny. There’s a video too. I had it on my list to read several years ago, but never got around to purchasing it. Glad I didn’t.

Also pretty funny that according to the review, his wife was the author, not Steve.

Is Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeve still wearing the pilot uniform after retirement?

I think we need to remind pilots that they can utilize the “first flight of the day” briefing items. It seems FOs don’t realize they can omit stuff and end up doing a full briefing on every leg of a four day trip. Also, do we need to brief an entire approach for a visual backed up by an ILS?
Amen.
I love when they feel need for a thorough brief on the lighting system … “umm.. it’s 12 noon on a VFR day…”
And making such a big deal about announcing “this is plate 11-2 dated 24 Feb 23 effective 26 Feb..” yes- important we’re on the same page. But when you brief the STAR you don’t announce the plate number ?? You just say “I’ve checked the points and they’re all good.” 😂
