Next Up in the RLA Conga Line

Were you guys and gals were advised by the union that was likely to be the outcome?
No, they have been good explaining the processes and what could happen either hearing nothing, being denied, or released for self help.

In the meantime they are continuing with picketing at airports and the upcoming spirit (cool aide) parties. They have also been good with their contract tips of the week lately giving out advice on how to get your flight times from the company, how to resign and what to expect from the company when you do.

I have to say I drive by the UAL TK on my way to work and it looks better and better everyday. And Ive been here far too long and I’m far too old to be thinking that way but at some point I think this place is actually going to beat me down enough to break me.

There is a juicy rumor going around that they have had to lower their minimums to a restricted ATP and turbine time just preferred so the jokes about it being a regional with 737s will be complete. Though you will more than likely be better rested at your regional.

BTDT, twice actually.

8 year CA at, uh, a place and same. You guys are closer to a contract than we are though.

This is kind of a thing these days.

Sorry to hear this, you are in a tough spot.

One of my homies just got hired at WN this week. Just north of 1500 being a cfi, less then 50 hours of turbine. Just finished ioe on the crj at OO the prior week.

But does he roll coal?
I know cult-ure shouldn’t be high on the list of a career destination, but other things being equal I’d rather be working for the virtue signal credit card company than “gays grannies grandes/roll coal express”. @ZapBrannigan stories really are just something. Then again I guess there’s plenty of Cherokee cruisers here I mean there too

A guy flying premium when we were negotiating called me an “Inslee voter” on the way to LAX. I was just trying to talk about fun stuff like bikes he asked me where I was from I told him Nor Cal and he blurts out “yeah you must be an Inslee voter”.

These people are everywhere.

Which was also a pretty dip***t assumption from him......isn't "norcal" where all those "Jefferson" billboards pop up? A generalization that large is pretty dumb, especially in a western state.

As I've said before I learned a lot about being a captain at a 121 operation over the last 5 years. A lot of it was how not to be a captain but I always learned something.

Consider the tone of asking an FO: "so what would it take to get you to stay here?" VS. "Why haven't you left for Delta?" You can still discuss the topic of attrition if it comes up but you don't have to make the FO feel like they have zero value.
