Canceled Flight, CA arrested...Options

I don't understand the obsession over alcohol. It can't be the taste. Is it addictive or do the effects feel really good? It seems very risky to drink at all the day before a flight. Everyone's metabolism is different.

If I could clone the trip I just flew with the people I just flew it with and do it for the rest of my career that'd work great. What a blast.

Life goal for me. I mean that in all sincerity. Doesn't even have to be to the same place you went - could be friggin' Green Bay for all I care, but I do really want to like the people I work with.

Evolution works over *extremely* long time-lines. There's a pretty believable theory floating about that consciousness is, itself, an evolutionary misstep. So it's not hard to imagine that, within that misstep, a mutation which makes being somewhat *less* conscious attractive might be selected for.

Been reading Peter Watts?

Specific to IPAs I really didn’t like the first few ones I tried, but my palate has evolved a bit as I’ve gotten older and now they’re my go-to.

Not recently, but yes, of course. I think "Blindsight" will someday be regarded as a classic of sci-fi. Maybe sorta like the better Heinlein books, although obviously with pretty much diametrically opposed politics.

I'd never really read anything about the nature of consciousness prior to that book but it still blows me away every time I pick it up.

Who doesn't like a good IPA? @derg says it will make your whiz stink but all I know is my wife can't stand IPA so I know they won't disappear from our fridge....

I’ll drink IPA a little now.

But a six pack of beer and a pack of all beef bologna, I know I’m going to have something to drink and something to eat when I get home. LOL

Beer makers just went overboard with hops in IPAs.

Really sucks to see a 61 year old pro can’t make it through an overnight without over doing the drinking.
You know why IPA was originally created, right? Same reason hot sauce was originally created.

Hint: neither initially had ANYTHING to do with marketing to the non-established yet widely-advanced epicurian tastes of "hipster" influencers.

Extra help hint: What words do the initials in the abbreviation "IPA" stand for?

Extra special, short-bus hint: pay attention in history class.

It's the mutation that has lead to many of the great advancements in, well... all manner of human endeavor. Any activity at which one is already highly proficient sober will generally be greatly enhanced by a two beer buzz. Full disclosure: I have no affiliations (commercial, family, or otherwise) to the distilling, vinting, or brewing industries.

Even if you don't agree with that theory, agree with this fact: two beers is less deleterious to equipment operation performance than one "smart" phone.

Do you like coffee? Spicy foods? Dark chocolate? Maybe a nice cigar?

It’s like anything, you develop an acquired taste and then it becomes very delicious. A nice IPA or well crafted cocktail is excellent.
Spicy food and dark chocolate, yes. I'm pretty sure I liked them from the beginning though.

It also depends what you tried. It’s easy to say you don’t like beer/wine/liquor, but there are so many different kinds and flavors that taste nothing like each other.
I don't like the actual taste of the alcohol and beer just tastes horrible to me.
