Morbid curiosity. Upgrade times?

Back in my day we’d say “I’d fly a Cessna 172 if they pay me enough!” but I guess this generation gets a little cranky if they’re not flying a Gucci Bus with seat warmers and butt massage. Gann would be disappointed.
Does your car have power steering, power windows, AC? You sissy it’s not modern coveninces, it’s a crutch! Times have changed and Boring didn’t keep up.

I AIN’T FLYIN NO 737, SUCKA

Didn’t you bid it? I was displaced. I like the plane. Sure it’s old on the overhead panel, but it flies really well and it’s fun to hand fly.

I have a love hate relationship with it. Honestly I don’t mind the technology (or lack thereof). I wish it were a little quieter and I do wish it had a couple of feet behind the seats like the Bus so you could stand up and stretch on long legs. It is what it is. Pays the bills and is fun to hand fly.

Any advice for someone headed to DAL in six days? I have a ticket to Atlanta as well.

DAL has a couple upgrades that have been on property for right around 12 months, 73N NYC

I think that will likely end in the near future. Perhaps even just consider it a one-off. The narrowbody flying in NYC goes so junior because most trips aren’t commutable on both ends and the pairings are busy/fatiguing unless you have some seniority to avoid that flying… Which you won’t have for at least a decade or more as a 1 year narrowbody CA in NYC. Great opportunity if you’re local or if you’re young and don’t have many other responsibilities. Go chase that paper. If you’re commuting or have a family I’d argue it’s not worth it.
