When in McCarran... Check it out!

What the hell are you flying in there that makes you think the runway is short?

And (more) negative points for total misuse of the word vehemently. Damn foreign language dictionaries always screwing up bots.

Negative points ? Misuse ? I could have used fiercely short... Same meaning.... Different word. Washington / Reagan National is a postage-stamp sized airport from a bygone era.... The app crs is 145....The runway heading is 194, so do the math: there’s an almost 50 degree heading change on final at 450 ft AGL. Just slightly unnerving.

What does the approach course have to do with the runway length? I mean, I mock the crap out of your weak trolling, but at least this is an aviation conversation... kind of... so I'm genuinely curious.

Kind of?.... You lost Me... But anyway ....Just as I suspected... A real aviation greaseball. Nothing wrong with that at all... I also plane spot and railfan often in My sparetime. The unnerving part about this is specifically low-altitude maneuvering: The wingspan of the 737-800 is over 130 feet long, and the jet is normally sinking at a rate of 700 feet per minute on short final. Thirty degrees of bank at 400 feet with seconds to touchdown, with each wingtip dipping up to 50′ in a turn less than 200′ above the ground always prompts one of those "oh brother... Here we go" moments. I guess You can call it anxiety. Moving right along and while a 20 degree offset is considered a challenge, the final alignment on such a typical offset approach happens early–but keep in mind that this turn is after the MDA, and you get to finalize the crosswind correction at the last second landing on a marginally adequate runway length IMO 6,800 feet–200′ shorter than what I refer to as "LaGaaurdia's aircraft carrier deck". and often on final approach, the tower will ask you to sidestep to the 5,200 foot runway instead. So before you even start the approach, you’d better figure and memorize your gross weight and stopping distance corrected for wind and in most cases, you’ll note that the total is within a COUPLE HUNDRED FEET of the shorter runway’s length. Then figure in the winds and the runway condition (wet? look at the numbers: fuggeddabout it) So the answer is usually “unable”–but at least half of the time I hear even full-sized (not just commuter sized) jets accepting the clearance. Last time I was there I accepted the clearance (had a small stopping distance) The next time was at night and to transition visually to the short runway at 500 feet, that seat-of-the-pants feel that says get the hell out of town took over and I diverted to Dulles instead.

This is WAY better trolling than your political stuff. I almost started typing out a real response.

Edit: he copied it? Boo. I had such high hopes.

Yes, he's a POS and full of the same. He's no pilot, he's not anything but a pathetic troll who isn't even smart enough to cover his trolling tracks. Most of what he wrote comes from that blog. Hell,, some of what he wrote before that post is also from that blog!

Example: {post 82) "Washington / Reagan National is a postage-stamp sized airport from a bygone era." Why you should NEVER fly into Washington National Airport | The JetHead Blog (wordpress.com)

Well played finding that quote. But did you know he was also a naval officer?

Since he’s clearly not a pilot, I’m just interested now to know if he’s a human camped out in an Cyrillic-speaking Eastern European troll farm—which would explain the lack of familiarity with basic capitaization—or is something completely AI-generated. I kind of want it to be that, I bet we could find ways to trigger it.

What if I told You: the jokes on You.... Everybody who is anybody knows about that blog this is the equivalent of trolling with an article by Les Abends. I dont know why I get a kick out of this sort of thing. Better yet this politically motivated trolling is getting a little old now.... I think its about time to shine a light on the real Me....
Wow! Obvious troll, admits he’s a troll!

Kinda an open secret. It's a point worth making, though. Whoever you lionize, whatever their Cause, if they're far enough in the past they almost certainly said or thought some poop that would scald your little virgin ears. Gandhi springs to mind, but I'll give dollars to donuts that it's true for any Always-Right, Universal-Hero type someone sets out to worship. I don't give two hoots for Marion Robert Morrison, one way or the other. I'm not of the generation that did, I guess. But if anyone naively imagines that whoever they *currently* think is Christ On The Cross and Infallible will stand the test of time, I've got this bridge in Brooklyn...

As someone recently and memorably quipped, "We didn't get out of the Stone Age because we ran out of stones". Conversely, though, it's not like everything was fixed forevermore because we started smelting. The truly ridiculous thing is imagining that there's some obvious and clear demarcation between Good and Evil in the past. White Hats and Black Hats? Pfft. Sounds like a dumb John Wayne movie! I'll be content if I can go down as "a pretty ok guy, for his time". Any other hope is absolute vanity.

The thing I didn’t like about Chuck was how he treated who was on par to be the first African American astronaut. I grew up with rumors about that but when you read conformational stories about it, what that could have done for America during a turbulent time is abject generation-shifting assholery.

He deleted that post, I see. A hole. His grammar, or lack of it, the capitalization of incorrect words, incorrect usage of words, lack of real aviation posts, ridiculous claims, just so many things, all add up to him being a worthless little troll.
