He thinks that has real influence in the industry. His cronies lap it all up. So now he is trying to speak for all of the industry saying that we are not to hire airline pilots. :rolleyes:

That’s where it took a turn, when he decided to make it more about being an influencer than an organizing a network. The page started sort of as a gossip site for only 91/135 pilots . Common topics were the older pilots longing about their days flying JetStars, where’s the best pizza… Then people in other parts of the industry were invited in; FAs, hospitality, FBOs, etc…. Suddenly it became more about the “brand” and being an influencer because he could monetize it. Shirts, hats, key chains, sponsorships….

It is a good dumpster fire to watch.

Yeah, I remember him trying to take a slice of peoples' money who networked contract flying on there and the many other schemes he'd try to pull.

If only he wasn't so abrasive and backwards thinking...he may have been able to find a way to monetize what he created.
 
Just like anything, when something becomes larger and there's no control over the product or content it goes out of control. Case and point. It entertaining to watch the debacle for sure, as I am no longer in any way, shape, or form, part of that group. But Now he's ranting about not hiring anyone who has an inkling of 121 on their resume because "we are the problem". As he put it.

Give me a break.


I did over 10 years part 91/135 flying and flew with a ton of great people. Can there be cowboys out there... sure. I mean, everywhere as them, but the SOPs, Structure, Culture, GOM/FOM, Ops Specs, whatever contain things to limit that. So if I am the problem because I fly for a multi billion dollar major company that has 60000 plus employees and that I "Don't know what im doing" Then I want to know what the problem is.

No doubt, as there are a couple of other application sites that have flourished and generate revenue for their owners.

AFAICT, from the pretty-far-outside-looking-in, he's the eidos of a certain kind of dude which is itself the perfect representation of The Problem with America in the last quarter of the 20th century to the present. Loudly Jebus-loving, conniving, mean-spirited, proudly ignorant, irresponsible, self-impressed, rude, anxious to find fault in others, ambitious-in-the-sad-way, and incompetent to boot. Did I miss anything?

Add homophobe to this list. He told a gay flight attendant that he was going to hell for being gay in a private/direct message.

Probably fueling the fire. Not many 121 pilots discharge firearms at public airports, stalk their estranged wife and her LEO boyfriend, get banned from an airline for refusing to wear a mask…. and much much more.

I knew about some of that, but that is quite the history for someone who thumps bibles as mich as he does. Maybe he hates airline pilots because he could never be hired by one.
