AAL Scheduling glitch

If it aint good enough, I hardly see how it moves the needles. Every one of the Union guys who negotiated the deal could think its excellent and work and not make a dent.

Yea I honestly don’t see people tripping over themselves to work for 300% or whatever over Christmas. I’d say this is far from over.

Yeah I'm in that boat...I had it off anyways, so I'm certainly not going to give up xmas morning for any amount. And I can tell you if that have the crazy stipulations like they did before, I aint bothering with it.

There is no universe in which American Airlines doesn’t operate their full Christmas schedule, no matter how much of the contract they have to violate to make it happen. It’s always better to beg an arbitrator for leniency later than it is to piss off customers now. If they have to junior assign people under threat of termination, they will.

As an 11 month FO at an AA wholy-owned regional, I’ve got it “rough” this Christmas.

At my shop as a line holder we have a 24 hr period where we can adjust our schedule (SAP) with anything in open time (including trading multiple trips for one trip). Just have to have a minimum of 65 hrs of credit. Usually I fly 80-90 hrs a month. But after working Thanksgiving I decided to SAP down to 67 hrs and 18 days off.

UPS would give us bank to accept PBS. Well, we already got bank, but WAY MO bank. Perhaps this sort of screw up will make them think twice? Are these sort of things likely when management has IT issues....

Do you live in base? Short call in base is less work than a part time job. I’m too nervous of not waking up to a phone call in the middle of the night to do long call. I get that would be a rare occasion but still.

That's why I love the fact that it is crew scheduling's job to wake me up. They send a wake up call to my company phone, if I don't answer that they call the room, if that doesn't work, call the front desk.

Thankfully it hasn't come to that, but I'm a pretty heavy sleeper. It's pretty awesome going to bed and thinking "they'll wake me up when they want me to go to work." Though it is a little bit frightening when they delay a flight by a bunch of hours and you wake up to unexpected day or night time.
