Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card and Priotity Pass card

Yes. You have to have a Delta boarding pass to access the Delta Sky Club using the Amex Platinum card. A seat request or even a jumpseat request will work though. You cannot bring in a guest either.

Of the two, I think the Chase Reserve has a slight edge. Since it gives 3 points per dollar on travel and food, I'm using it every single day. Plus I can combine those points with my other Chase cards such as the Freedom, so I'm really racking up the points. You get Priority Pass lounge access as well. It's also automatic Gold with Hhonors, SPG, and Marriott, so I get plenty of free breakfasts.

The Amex only gets you 5 points per dollar on airline purchases only and hotels and travel booked through the Amex website. Since I non-rev, I really don't use this card much for purchases. But I do rack up some points when my family wants to travel, since I act as their travel agent. There's the $200 Uber credit as well.

The Platinum will also give you Hilton, SPG and Marriott Gold. For racking up points pair it with the Everyday Preferred AMEX for 1.5X on every day spend. AMEX also runs deals on transfers to airlines. If you plan ahead, there's a potential return of 2.5X airline miles per dollar of every day spend. I don't use the AMEX for hotels as they count as agency bookings and you may not get the status perks. I use the hotel's own credit cards.

Just to confirm, Centurion or other PriorityPass lounges would not typically admit you in uniform, right? Plus, it may not portray a good image to be in there if there is an open bar.

Therefore these lounge perks would only be useful when non reving or jumpseating out of uniform and then only if they bend the rules for you because you don’t have a positive space ticket?

If you non-rev or jumpseat. I'll be traveling through SEA on Friday on my way to the Europes via a First Class ticket, if anyone would like to explore the Centurion as my guest, they are very welcome.

@NickH are you in the 121 world? I've heard mixed results getting into Centurions with a standby pass.[/QUOTE]

Centurions are strict with the Standby passes. SFO refused us last week. She even went so far as to rather snidely show us in writing. Fortunately, some kind, anonymous Austrian passenger overheard this and just added us as his guests and away we went. It was all I could do not to give the gate keeper a little raspberry salute.

Rarely have an issue with a standby pass for admittance to a PP location.

Best of the PP locations I've been to is the Turkish Airlines lounge at IAD.

Plus 1 on Turkish at IAD. Ooh, that Baklava!

I just wear my black fleece over my uniform shirt...

So. I have both cards. It's worth it to me. Cashed in my points and got business class on Singapore Airlines A350 SIN-MAN-IAH for me and my gf. The Centurion Lounges require a boarding pass with a seat assignment. So just a seat request card doesn't work. You can use an arrival boarding pass though. Most PP lounges want something; seat request card, boarding pass. Some I've just told them my flight number. And then Delta, you have to have a Delta boarding card to use the Amex card. I eat and drink enough to cover the $150 cost of the cards.
I don't fly for an airline so if I'm at an airport I've always got a ticket haha. Sounds worth it though. Pulling the trigger!

I got the CSR a few months ago. So far I've been pleased with the experience. Already got the $300 travel credit...but haven't been able to use the lounge access yet. I have no doubt I will recoup the $450 annual fee and then some with the benefits the card provides.

Currently kicking back in The Concorde Room at LHR. No paid-for lounge card or credit card will get you here! 'Tis a wonderful place...

But then you realize that the pinnacle of mankind's civilian aviation and aeronautical engineering has been retired, and just lends it's name to a pokey little room at the airport. And then it's a sad place... But there's a bar....

Greatest cc in the world...... Immediate 75k credit limit. Between the Priority Pass and credits for travel I'm happy to pay the $450 a year

$450 annual fee, 12-23% APR

NOT WORTH IT.

It is if you can pay your balance every month.

$300 cash back travel
Priority Pass
Etc
Etc
Etc

All in all its no different than the $195 that the Delta Platinum Card charges once you take into account all of the benefits.

What do you think about that place?

During my trips from Baghdad back to the states I always bypassed it and opted for the first class lounge instead.

Seemed too stuffy the few times I went there.

I like it. The restaurant is good, and the bar. I like the 'outside' seating area. The flounge doesn't even compare!

Want some Priority Pass humour? I'm in the Alaska Lounge in PDX. I had dinner at the Capers cafe, where PP gave me a $28 credit. Then down to the House Spirits Distillery for a $28 whisky flight, across to D concourse for another $28 at the Capers market and bar and finishing in the lounge. PP has been good to me this evening!

Anyone have the Amex platinum card? It's 550 a year with similar benefits but I got an offer for 100K points for spending 5K in 3 months and I'm thinking of pulling the trigger. Get Delta sky club lounge access, centurion access, and priority pass as well...

Amex platinum card is definitely worth it if you travel a lot. Hell, it is a better deal than a Skylub membership, even if you just use it for that.

Amex points are probably the most useful of any, as you can use them on amazon, any airline or hotel, etc.
