Wanna pilot job at Delta?

We're not asking for flow, which is a job being handed to you. We're upset because we've been made to believe that our MEC was told any kind of contractual career progression (which half the company had) was not on the table.

They just put the value of 5 years of bag throwing and 100 hours of 152 time equal to that of being a 121 captain, flying DL pax, for 2 years.

Personally, I wouldn't count throwing bags and working your way through your ratings on your days off as the easy road to the promise land. People who already work at Delta should have a leg up for a better job at their own company. That's just me though.

Well, in fairness, you don’t work for Delta. You are an employee of Endevour. Your company is a subcontractor for Delta. Just because your company may be owned by Delta, that means nothing. Ask any ASA or Comair pilot what their company being wholly owned by Delta actually means. Ask any DGS employee below upper management what it means.

First off, I was told being owned by delta, meant EVERYTHING....

2nd.... Is Delta, the airline, owned by a larger Delta Air LIne Group or Inc or something, similar to American Airlines and AAG?

If KC wants to know what Delta looks like when its roughing the passer he can just ask his pre2015 employees that didn't flow to Delta or already bail.

Being pwned means everything!

What is the point of this program when Delta already has an endless supply of regional fodder from which it can fill however many pilot positions are open?

It's a poll.

We've had some people from other employee groups get the aviation bug, get their licenses, build time and end up very successful new pilots.

The poll is largely "is there interest if we explored the idea of some sort of program" and THATS IT

Plus, simply because someone has DeltaNet access and can take the poll does not mean that they're not going to pull their results out.

That's our MEC chairman's letter. And to us, its not a grievous over-reaction, for it to be dropped during the information stage of a TA...

I'm glad to see its just an experiment to see if there's interest, but you have to at least see why people at our level would be upset about it.

There is no correlation between your contract and this poll.

Like zero.

Southernjets is going to make decisions that benefits Southernjets without regard to where Endeavor is with their negotiations. Trust me.

I repeat. THIS IS JUST A POLL Unless you're hearing from one of the few people in for the meeting, chances are you're getting inaccurate information and whoever wrote the MEC update was alarmist and incorrect.

Literally the only people saying "we're part of the same company" is Endeavor and literally no one else makes decisions based upon current events there.

1. You believe everything you’re told?

2. No. Delta Air Lines is just that, Delta Air Lines.

Good way to give all prospective endeavor pilots a black eye.

My honest opinion...

I see both sides to the argument. Those that are not fortunate enough to have the resources to get into this career are starting to see opportunities, which is good. Flight training is now getting so expensive that you have to start a career based on good decision making processes by making a horrible decision to get into that much debt. Having these sort of programs for people that display the potential and motivation will be refreshing to our culture.

On the other hand, I see the point of view of those that have already sacrificed and are now flying at the regionals. In all honesty, aside from the number of pax behind you it really is the same job. You get paid to safely transport pax from A to B. Regional pilots now fly in and out of the same airports and the same routes as major airline pilots, making the same exact decisions every day while flying a plane that says Delta on the side. However, the "connection" on the end of it means they are still not "mainline". The fix to this would be to simply get rid of regionals all together, your plane says Delta then your paycheck should too. People don't pay any less or are even aware of the fact they are flying on a regional jet anymore, it is not like the early 90s when it was all turboprops feeding a hub from small communities.

Which is why, if they want us to wear the hat, they will have to beg on their knees!!!

FREEEEEEEDOOOOMMM FREEEEEEDOOOM!

Wait, wait, wait, wait....your pilot group has a guaranteed interview, but you (they) are complaining because Delta wants to possibly make it easier to bring their own employees onto the pilot seniority ranks?

Apparently in the mind of several Endeavor pilots, they already are at Delta. I don't agree with flows or promised interviews. They only serve to foster laziness. Everyone is in competition and must prove that they are worthy of being hired. You make the cut or you don't, simple as that.
