I have no idea about the flying, but for me I want to say private to CFII/RJ course was in the 30s. There's cheaper places, but it wasn't obscene. Especially since all I needed was an apartment off campus and I was was paying in state.

here in the states, roughly what % of those flying for majors have a bachelor degree? Let me amend that, should kids coming of high school understand a bachelors is needed for a career in commercial aviation in the U.S..

And here's the thing. Even as the supply dwindles, US carriers are sourcing pilots globally.

A friend of mine has spoken to a number of Lufthansa, KLM and Alitalia pilots whose education passed the NACES requirements in order to qualify as a four year degree and have plentiful heavy time.

Happy times for awkward people that want to marry a European and grant them the legal right to work in the US.

I say the same thing to my buddy who went to Riddle for ATC who is now $120k in student loan debt and works at a several level lower facility than me with no degree at all.
