Hand Flown RNAV SIDS and STARS

PUSH ROLL POWER RECOVER!

Say it now!

I'm happy to hear that my shop isn't the only one making you spit out the words and change the way you've been doing something for the last 22 years. Our words are slightly different though.

STALL/ATTITUDE DISCONNECT PUSH ROLL THRUST STABILIZE

Personally, I typically hand fly up to 18 or so, and all but one of my approaches on the 330 have been hand flown with the autothrust off. I'm an outlier, as I've only seen one landing flown by someone else with the autothrust off. Hand flying varies, from below 1000 feet up to like what I do to 18 or the low 20s.
I had a Captain go somewhat ape on me in the 175 when I went "click click, click click" on a beautiful day in SFO.

It seemed to me to be an opportunity to get my pilot on.

In general at the current place I will hand fly up to FL100 or so and with a manual landing click A/P & A/T after all checklists are complete. I would not click the FD off under normal circumstances. I also would probably handfly a bit more on the arrival but I'm cognizant that it increases the workload of the PM.

Still not sure what radar you guys have....

The control head looks slightly different than ours so I'm guessing it's a different system. (Not even talking about the new 3-D system).

It's just as cheap as they were by not buying the brake fans. There's a reason we've had 3 significant hail events in as many years...

Why no one has gotten the hint that we should have at least a mad dog level of radar in the Airbus confuses me.

I don't know what radar you guys have, but coming from flying EMB's, the Airbus radar is one of the few things I'm happy with. It'll paint a bird taking a piss at 80 miles.

Did you just… "back on the Embraer" me? TRIGGERED! :)

The 321's have the multiscan, the 319/320's have the "Well, the feds say you need to have a weather radar, let's just say that box technically qualifies as radar but you wouldn't exactly, you know, want to really use it and I can give you a real good deal on them" units.

Must have pulled them off of CRJ's in the desert
