Skywest Questions

It's total BS if they're letting guys take an "entire summer off". But....if it's a few weekend air shows that SKW attends anyway and he's doing some recruiting?? I can get this...

I have noticed that about half the new hires in my class I recently trained with on the 175 seem to be getting the ORD blues. Some before they even get on-line. A bunch of sickness, requests for EXTRA IOE, leaving for other jobs closer to home, exc, exc..

Honestly, I think training contracts are bogus but after seeing how few of the new hires are actually willing to come out and fly the line I wouldn't blame the company. Those type ratings are coming from our profit sharing checks. Don't come here unless you're willing to do a few months in ORD.

There were a lot of upset guys in my class when they found out we are all going to ORD. I asked a few of them, "you knew that coming here didn't you?" The writing was on the wall for months, that we are going to ORD. Just deal with it for a couple months, it will get better.

I'm starting to think LCR was a bad move on my part. So far it seems to be coverage purely for stand ups with a 12 hour callout. Hi, you just woke up? Well hopefully you can get some more sleep mid day because you have a stand up tonight. Don't worry, it's totally legal. Have a good day! Haha

Not whining. Just wondering how stand ups are even still legal after a plane crashed into a house in 2009 due to fatigue issues..

It's been going on longer than that.

Depending on how close you live, short call can actually be a better deal. Also depends on the pairing mix. LCR is locals-and-standups-call-first.

Alright guys, what the heck is it with Delta gate agents not letting us list on Delta flights serviced by SkyWest. I'm a 175 guy and I know that others have had a similar issue as well. I was told that I need to pay the fee of 211 dollars. I contacted leadership about it and was told it happens, not much they really can do about it. Is there any trick you guys know in order to list on Delta flights? My short journey from PDX-SEA turned into a cluster with that issue combined with wx and Alaska delays. Luckily Crew Support seemed understanding after I told them I'd rent a car and drive, but would be over an hour late for my stand up.

Skywest did it. Mainline gets blamed for it. Tell St. George to hand'll they biznatch.

If I have one goal this week, it will be to get more clarity as to why this is an isssue. I could care less about non rev benefits on Delta, but not being able to use CASS especially on a SkyWest jet is a little frustrating.

Yeah this is a money saving measure from what I understand. Only one Skywest pilot can be listed for the Jumpseat on Delta flight, unless that pilot pays the $50 fee. If you don't pay the fee in advance, they will charge you the full $200 plus taxes for Delta benefits.

The specific issue is that someone with a 410-series PPR can't flow back to the cabin, and if all the actual PJS's are occupied, watch 'em push back.

¥PASS RIDER NOT AUTH FOR FLIGHT¥

I would know.
