Skywest Questions

I started IOE on the 700/900. So I have one, possibly two more trips on it. Then I need to get on the 200. Which has not been scheduled yet. I called the training department to inquire about when that will be scheduled. they did not answer.

Thanks for all the help everyone!

At least RVS will have nice trips on it.

Yes. They are meant to move to your new base. But you don't actually have to move. Just use them for extra days off. Have weekend plans later in February? Put them there. You get moving days every time you transfer bases.
Indeed. You *can* waive them if you wish (I had already moved by the time I was done with the most recent training event), but generally, use 'em.

In the voice of the soup Nazi, "no hats".

On APC, they consider wearing the hat to be a sign that you're a tool—especially, for some reason, as an FO.

I often find myself wearing jacket, hat, and trenchcoat*, 'cause I think it gives me that certain Wehrmacht appeal.

"Illegitimi non carborundum," as the mock-romans say.

or

"We can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind.
Because your friends don't dance, and if they don't dance,
They ain't no friends of mine."

SkyWest crews are like pirate crews—we can all be in uniform, and all be dressed completely differently.

I kinda like that sometimes.

Wait. If you don't by a leather jacket for 400$ on an FO salary your a tool?

I'm just gonna get a trench coat. Does it need epaulets?

You can't put epaulets on the trench coat so you'd need the hat. That's what we were told. I just got the sweater and blazer. Can't justify spending $400 on the leather jacket.

My question is why do the bars on the blazer arm only cover 3/4? Is that how they all are?

Heh! They think I'm a "jackwagon" anyway!

Right up until they're at "certain events" and say "Whoah, that name sounds familiar…" :)

My blazer is like your's. Best I can figure, it's so you don't have torn up stripes on the high wear areas under your wrists.

And when you can pop for it, get the leather. For the warmth, durability, ability to convert it to civilian wear, and that feel good Fonzie vibe, it's worth every cent. Not to mention the souvenir value in your, or your descendent's post SkyWeezy lives.
